Samuel Rhodes and his wife, Diana, were having lunch. It was a completely ordinary and quiet afternoon where they decided to lounge and relax together in their open dining room. The table was set simply, and the clink of cutlery against plates was the only sound breaking the silence of the room. Diana laughed softly at something small she was reading on her tablet, passing a side dish across to her husband. Samuel took it with a nod, his posture relaxed, completely unaware of the storm gathering outside their doors.
The double doors of the entrance suddenly opened without warning and Aziel walked into the living room. His face was blank and completely devoid of any warmth he usually brought to their home. Diana looked up, her face lighting up with an affectionate grin the moment she saw her son standing in the archway.
