Chapter 5 - The Glitch Between Moments

The classroom never went back to normal.

Even after the walls were fixed.

Even after the desks were replaced.

Even after the whispers died down—

Something stayed..

Jinzu felt it the moment he walked in.

That same pressure.

Low.

Heavy.

Waiting.

No one sat near him anymore.

Not even by accident.

There was always space.

Too much space.

He sat down slowly, placing his hands on the desk.

Still.

Careful.

"…Don't move too much today."

Jinzu didn't look up.

Senju's voice came from behind him again.

Calm.

Like always.

"…Why?" Jinzu asked quietly.

A pause.

"You're close again."

Jinzu's fingers twitched.

"I'm fine," he said.

But even as he said it—

His vision flickered.

Just once.

Like a blink—

But wrong.

For less than a second—

Everything changed.

Dark.

A shape in front of him.

Something moving.

Fast.

His arm—

Raised.

Then—

Gone.

The classroom snapped back instantly.

Jinzu froze.

His breathing stopped for a second.

"…What was that…?" he whispered.

Senju didn't answer right away.

Because he saw it too—

Not the image.

But the reaction.

"It started," Senju said quietly.

Jinzu's chest tightened.

"I didn't black out," he said.

"…You did," Senju replied.

Jinzu shook his head.

"No—I was just—"

Another flicker.

Shorter this time.

Dark.

A loud crack—

Not heard.

Felt.

Something breaking.

Then—

Back.

Jinzu grabbed the edge of his desk.

Hard.

"…Stop," he muttered.

The pressure spiked instantly.

Across the room—

The air near the wall shifted.

Something was there.

Not fully visible.

But enough.

It moved.

Jinzu's eyes locked onto it.

And that was it.

The moment he focused—

Everything snapped.

Black.

A flash.

Not even a second.

He saw—

Movement.

Fast.

Violent.

The shape in front of him—

Closer now.

His hand—

In front of it.

Then—

Gone.

Another flash.

The room looked different.

Tilted.

Broken.

Something was on the ground.

Green.

Then—

Gone.

Jinzu opened his eyes.

He was on the floor.

His head hurt.

Not sharp—

Just heavy.

The classroom was destroyed.

Again.

Desks flipped.

Walls cracked.

Students pushed back as far as they could go.

Silence filled the room.

Jinzu slowly pushed himself up.

His hands touched the ground.

Green.

He stared at it.

Longer this time.

"…I didn't even…" he whispered.

He couldn't finish it.

Because he didn't know what to say.

It wasn't a full blackout.

It wasn't nothing either.

It was…

Less than a second.

Footsteps approached.

Senju.

"You felt it," Senju said.

Jinzu nodded slowly.

"…I saw something."

A pause.

"Not all of it," Jinzu added quickly. "Just… pieces."

Senju's eyes narrowed slightly.

"It's leaking," he said.

Jinzu looked up.

"…What is?"

A small silence.

Then—

"Your power."

Jinzu's grip tightened.

"I'm not doing anything," he said.

"I know," Senju replied.

Another pause.

"That's the problem."

The wind moved through the broken room again.

Jinzu looked back at his hands.

Then slowly closed them.

Because now—

It wasn't just blackouts.

The classroom never went back to normal.
