Rebecca's eyes flashed. Her hand clutched her chest as she took in a mouthful of air.
"What?" Clara pressed, oblivious to Rebecca's discomfort. Or perhaps, she did notice it, and decided to ignore it. Or perhaps, that was her main goal... to make Becca uncomfortable.
"Scared already? Do you wish for Anderson to save you?" Clara's eyes flickered over to Anderson who was dutifully placing pastries in a plate. She recalled the conversation she had with her father that evening before they left.
He had warned her to stay away from Anderson, and in extension, Rebecca.
She cursed inwardly. She had never done well with rules. She could offend Rebecca.
Perhaps, Anderson would spare her another glance if she took care of Rebecca for him. Her lips curved, her eyes lightened just by that thought.
