Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Man Who Couldn’t Forget

Six years later.

Aarav Mehta stood in front of the glass window of his office, overlooking the glittering skyline of Mumbai.

Everything had changed.

He was now one of the most powerful businessmen in the city.

Successful.

Respected.

Feared.

But none of it mattered.

Because every night…

He still thought about her.

Ananya.

The woman he had once loved.

The woman he had pushed away.

His fingers unconsciously touched the ring hidden beneath his sleeve.

He never removed it.

Not once.

"Sir, your meeting—" his assistant interrupted.

"Cancel it," Aarav said.

His voice was calm, but his eyes were distant.

"Sir?"

"I said cancel it."

The assistant nodded and left.

Aarav closed his eyes.

For the first time in years…

He allowed himself to feel.

Regret.

Pain.

Loneliness.

"What if I was wrong?" he whispered.

But answers never came.

Only silence.

Meanwhile, across the city…

A little boy laughed as he ran through a crowded mall.

"Mama! Catch me!"

Ananya chased after him, smiling.

"Ayaan! Slow down!"

The boy suddenly bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry!" he said politely.

The man he bumped into looked down.

And froze.

Because the child's eyes…

Looked exactly like his.

Aarav Mehta's world stopped.
