Chapter 6 - 6. A Peak of One’s Own

Xiao Feng followed the elder as they moved toward the inner core area of the Administrative Hall.

The surroundings gradually grew quieter and the bustling noise faded behind them.

Fewer disciples appeared here, and those present carried themselves with greater restraint.

Clearly, this was not a place ordinary disciples could enter freely.

They stopped before a closed room.

The elder stepped forward and gently pushed the door open.

"Enter," he said respectfully.

Xiao Feng walked inside.

The room was spacious and grand.

Carved wooden pillars stood on both sides, and intricate patterns decorated the walls. A faint fragrance lingered in the air, calming the mind.

At the center—

an old man sat behind a large table.

His posture was steady, his presence deep yet restrained. His eyes opened slowly as Xiao Feng entered.

The elder stepped forward and cupped his fists.

"Elder Zhou, the person has been brought."

Elder Zhou gave a slight nod.

"You may leave."

"Yes."

The elder did not linger. He bowed once more before retreating.

Soon, only Xiao Feng and the old man remained in the room.

Xiao Feng stepped forward and took out the golden token.

Elder Zhou's gaze fell upon it.

A trace of surprise appeared on his face, before a faint smile appeared on his face.

"You should be Xiao Feng."

Xiao Feng's eyes flickered slightly, as he was a bit surprised.

Elder Zhou chuckled softly.

"The matter of you becoming the disciple of Supreme Elder Shi has already spread among the elders."

He gestured lightly.

"Come, sit."

Xiao Feng hesitated for a brief moment, then sat down.

"Junior brother," Elder Zhou said with a gentle tone, "no need to be so reserved."

Xiao Feng was slightly taken aback.

Junior brother?

You a thousand year old grandpa whose one leg is already in grave, becoming my brother, don't you have a shame?

But, he quickly understood.

This was because of his master.

Supreme Elder Shi's status was far beyond that of ordinary elders.

As for shame, where is this existed among these old foxes?

But he didn't know that if not for his current cultivation being too low… this Elder Zhou might have even addressed him as senior brother.

After all, being the only personal disciple of such a figure, it was only a matter of time before his status surpassed most people in the sect.

Elder Zhou clearly understood this.

Thus, he chose to build a good relationship early.

"I have already arranged your matters," Elder Zhou said.

With a wave of his hand, a token and a set of robes appeared on the table.

"This is your disciple token and your official robe."

Xiao Feng looked at them and recognized their status.

Inner disciple robes.

Elder Zhou smiled slightly.

"I can only assign you the status of an inner disciple for now," he said apologetically. "Even as a personal disciple of an elder, certain rules cannot be bypassed completely."

Xiao Feng nodded.

"I understand."

He truly did not mind.

In fact, with his current cultivation at Peak Qi Refining Realm… even becoming an inner disciple was already quite high.

Among the outer disciples, he was still weaker than most of them.

Elder Zhou observed him quietly.

He had already sensed Xiao Feng's cultivation- Peak Qi Refining Realm.

But, based on the information he had received earlier…

this young man had only recently entered the sect.

And now, he had already reached this level.

His talent was clearly extraordinary.

'A person like this…'

'It is best to maintain good relations.'

Unlike himself, his own potential had already reached its limit.

After a few more exchanges, Elder Zhou stood up.

"I will take you to your residence."

They walked out of the room together, as Elder Zhou personally leading the way.

The moment they appeared, the hall fell into another wave of silence.

Many disciples had not left yet.

When they saw the scene, their expressions froze.

"Elder Zhou… is personally leading him?"

"Who is that person?"

"A Qi Refining disciple…?"

Shock spread rapidly.

Elder Zhou's status was not low. Yet he was willingly to personally accompanying a disciple.

Some even began to speculate that 'Is he the Sect Master's son?'

Huo Xiu stood among them.

Her face had turned even paler. A trace of fear appeared in her eyes.

Her gaze subconsciously shifted toward Xiao Feng.

At that moment, Xiao Feng seemed to sense it.

He turned slightly and their eyes met.

Xiao Feng looked at her, his expression calm. A faint, indifferent smile appeared on his lips.

Then he turned away and continued walking.

Huo Xiu's heart tightened.

Elder Zhou noticed the subtle exchange. His gaze shifted slightly toward Huo Xiu. Then toward the surrounding disciples.

'Did something happened before…'

But he did not say anything. He simply continued walking.

After some time, they arrived at a mountain peak.

"This will be your residence," Elder Zhou said.

Xiao Feng looked up, his eyes flickered.

A small mountain peak… assigned to him alone.

Although it could not compare to his master's, this was more than enough for him.

This kind of treatment was usually reserved for True Disciples.

Elder Zhou smiled.

"It will be more convenient for you to move around here."

"I will also arrange for a few disciples to assist you with daily matters, so you can focus on your cultivation."

Xiao Feng nodded slowly.

"Thank you, Elder Zhou."

"No need to be polite, junior brother," Elder Zhou replied with a smile.

After a few more words, he turned and left.

Xiao Feng stood at the peak for a moment before walking toward the residence.

The building stood quietly, like a small palace.

Elegant.

Spacious.

He stepped inside.

The interior was refined, with everything arranged neatly. Spiritual energy lingered in the air, noticeably denser than outside.

A calm feeling spread through his body.

Xiao Feng walked further in, observing the surroundings. Everything was prepared perfectly.

After a long day, his mind finally relaxed slightly. Too many things had happened.

First he transmigrated, then making such a commotion with Pill Bone, taking the master and his new identity.

He exhaled slowly.

'I will deal with the rest tomorrow.'

He sat down cross-legged, stabilizing his cultivation for a while before eventually lying down to rest.

The night grew quiet.

And for the first time since entering the sect, Xiao Feng allowed himself to sleep.

The next morning, Xiao Feng waken up early and ready for his first day as Heavenly Dao Sect's disciple.

His heart filled with faint anticipation.

After a full night of rest, the breakthrough from yesterday had completely settled, leaving behind a solid and refined foundation.

So, his master was going to teach him pill refining.

He even specifically wore the inner disciple robe he had received the previous day.

As he put it on, the difference became immediately apparent. The material was light yet firm, perfectly outlining his slender physique.

Compared to his previous plain clothes, he looks quite handsome in these robes.

Looking at himself briefly, Xiao Feng nodded slightly.

At least this kid have point in this field.

When he stepped outside, the air felt fresh and slightly cool.

The spiritual energy on this mountain peak was dense, far richer than ordinary areas, and it naturally calmed the mind.

Xiao Feng walked a few steps forward before pausing, his gaze drifting toward the open space around the residence.

The ground was mostly empty, with only a few patches of grass growing naturally.

For a moment, he recalled the scene at his master's place—the neatly arranged spirit herbs and the simple atmosphere that suited an alchemist perfectly.

A thought formed naturally in his mind.

"If I plant some spirit herbs here, it would be much more convenient in the future…"

As a future Alchemist Overlord, he needed to maintain his face like a young alchemist.

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Feng made a simple decision.

"I'll ask Master later."

With that, he turned and headed toward his master Shi Bodong's mountain.

The familiar small house soon came into view.

Compared to his own residence, this place appeared far simpler, yet it carried a sense of quiet depth that was difficult to describe.

Before Xiao Feng could announce himself, a calm voice entered his ears.

"Come to the backyard directly."

Xiao Feng did not hesitate and walked inside.

In the backyard, his Master Shi was seated on a wooden chair beside a small table.

A teapot rested quietly on the table, with steam rising faintly from the cup in his hand.

He appeared relaxed, as if he had been waiting for some time, completely at ease in his surroundings.

The backyard itself was filled with rows of spirit herbs, carefully arranged and well maintained. This made the entire place feel both peaceful and extraordinary.

Xiao Feng stepped forward and cupped his fists respectfully.

"Master."

Shi Bodong glanced at him, his eyes briefly scanning his condition before giving a slight nod.

Xiao Feng sat down only after Master Shi gestured for him to do so.

Elder Shi took another sip of tea, then set the cup down gently, his expression gradually becoming more focused.
