Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Protection of Minors Act

Dinner's main dishes were pork and chicken—specifically, Gray-grade inferior spirit beasts: Ten-Wing Chicken and Tofu Pig, both around Level 2 or 3. Altogether, the meal cost Lin Guang over three thousand Great Xia coins.

Both were considered "budget-friendly" among edible spirit beasts.

The Ten-Wing Chicken could have its wings endlessly harvested and regrown, while the Tofu Pig had meat as soft and smooth as tofu. The flesh on its belly could be cut repeatedly without harming the body—just feed it soybeans, and it would continuously regenerate and grow.

They were spirit beasts from a world somewhat like Toriko—creatures that seemed to exist purely to be eaten.

If W hadn't completely drained her aether, leveled up once, and if Lin Guang himself hadn't been utterly exhausted, he definitely wouldn't have splurged like this.

And this kind of unheard-of delicacy nearly sent W into full-on glutton mode. If Lin Guang hadn't forced her to at least try using chopsticks, she probably would've eaten ninety percent of the meal by herself.

After dinner, W headed into the bathroom to shower (Lin Guang had already rushed to shower the moment he got home), while Lin Guang, after cleaning up the kitchen, picked up his phone—it had buzzed earlier.

The message was from his homeroom teacher, Ouyang Wei. Not a single word about spirit beasts—just a simple check-in asking how he'd been doing over the past couple of days, and suggesting that with such nice weather, he should go out and exercise instead of staying cooped up reading all day.

After reading the message, a faint smile tugged at Lin Guang's lips. He then went to his room and pulled out a sheet of paper from a stack of books.

It was the "Spirit Beast Information Collection Form" that Ouyang Wei had distributed last semester.

Despite its name, the form was quite simple—just a few lines to fill in. Afterward, one only needed to sign at the bottom, affirming legal responsibility for the truthfulness of the information.

"What are you writing?"

Just as he finished filling it out, a girl's voice came from behind him, accompanied by the soft, damp sound of bare feet stepping on tile.

"Your info sheet. And I told you to wear slippers in the house."

"Troublesome." She clicked her tongue, then changed the subject. "What do you mean, my information?"

"Basic details—age, name, race, attributes, potential… Right, how old are you?"

W clicked her tongue again, tilting her head and frowning as if faced with a difficult math problem.

In the end, she scratched the side of her head near her black-red demon horns, looking slightly irritated, and waved her hand dismissively.

"Eighteen? No… probably nineteen? Can't remember. That kind of thing isn't important to Sarkaz."

"Nineteen?"

Seeing Lin Guang's skeptical look, she shrugged. "Who knows? After coming here, my body changed in a lot of ways. Getting younger is one of them."

"Alright then."

Lin Guang didn't dwell on it. Instead, he recalled W 's original fate in Future Ark. Around her early twenties, she would meet the monarch who would change her life.

Overall… that had been a good thing.

At least until that monarch was killed, pushing her already war-torn mind into complete madness. For a long time after, she placed revenge and slaughter above everything else in her life.

But judging from her current state, she clearly hadn't met that person yet.

After filling in her age, Lin Guang took a photo of the form with his phone and sent it to his homeroom teacher. Only then did he turn around—and raised an eyebrow slightly.

W wasn't wearing any clothes.

She was wrapped only in one of his bath towels. The fabric clung tightly, shaping her figure, while droplets of water slid down her pale, long legs. She was rummaging through his wardrobe, holding clothes against herself to check the fit.

That's when Lin Guang realized—he had forgotten to buy her clothes. Again.

After leaving the training center, cooking had already drained his limited energy, and he'd completely forgotten about it.

"Hmm?"

Noticing his gaze, W turned around. She seemed to misunderstand his expression, a faint smile curling at her lips.

Combined with her current appearance and her demonic features, there was a strange allure about her—like a rose blooming on a battlefield, dangerous yet irresistible.

She crossed her arms, her chest pressing against the towel, her slender red-black tail swaying behind her. Barefoot on the floor, her bright red toenails added an oddly captivating touch.

Leaning close to his ear, she whispered softly,

"Want your big sister to teach you something?"

Lin Guang: "?"

She stepped forward and sat directly on his lap, placing her hands on the back of the chair as she looked down at him.

"I don't like owning people. You saved me from traffickers and treated me to such good food. If you want, I can repay you with my body. Besides… your face is quite my type."

Lin Guang sighed. "That's… not a good idea."

"What's wrong? You think I'm dirty?"

As if she'd found her answer, she leaned closer, her gaze sharp and invasive, her warm breath brushing against his face.

"It's my first time, you know."

Seeing the slight confusion in his eyes, her smile deepened.

All that talk about 'heart to heart' and 'walking together'—sounds so noble, so pretty. I don't believe it.

Let me tear off that fake mask of yours.

But the boy's next sentence nearly broke her composure.

"…But I'm only sixteen. Doing that with a minor is illegal."

Lin Guang hesitated for a moment, then looked her in the eyes.

"When I used to walk alone, older girls from other schools would surround me and ask me all sorts of things. Once, right after school, a really pretty thirty-year-old woman tried to take me to see some rare spirit beast."

"I almost went with her, but a teacher saw it and pulled me away. He told me that boys need to protect themselves too, and shouldn't agree to inappropriate requests."

"So ever since then, I've been more careful about self-respect and protecting myself."

"?"

W's carefully crafted seductive expression completely fell apart.

"Are you messing with me? You don't look like the kind of naive idiot who'd fall for something like that."

"You didn't know what I was like before, so it's normal not to believe me… but it's true. I still remember it clearly."

Lin Guang let out a small breath, as if still relieved by his past luck.

Now that he had awakened memories of his previous life, he obviously wasn't that innocent anymore.

But back then…

He really had almost fallen for it.
