Chapter 3 - System 1

I sat at my desk, staring at my books, but the words blurred together.

"Accounting… debit… credit…" I muttered, tapping my pen against the table.

My mind wasn't here.

It kept drifting back to that glowing screen.

Because it felt real.

The headache from earlier had already faded, replaced by a strange sense of anticipation—like something big was about to happen.

Still, I forced myself to focus.

"If this is fake, I fail again. If this is real… then my life changes anyway."

That was enough motivation.

Hours passed.

The ticking of the clock grew louder with every second.

10:47 PM.

11:12 PM.

11:39 PM.

I tried reading again, but ended up staring at the same page. Finally, I gave up and lay on my bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling.

"Just a few more minutes…"

11:58 PM.

My heart started beating faster.

I sat up.

The glowing screen appeared again in front of me—clearer this time, brighter.

System initializing…

I froze.

"…So it wasn't a dream."

11:59 PM.

The air in my room felt heavier. Even the fan above seemed to slow down.

And then—

00:00

The screen flickered.

A sharp pain shot through my head.

"Ah—!"

I clutched my temples as a flood of information rushed into my mind. It felt like something was being installed directly into my brain.

Then suddenly—

Silence.

A calm, emotionless voice echoed inside my head.
