Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

The images on the light screen shocked everyone.

Kael had actually scooped up Lumine and carried her away.

As for where they were going, no one knew.

Charlotte: This is definitely big news! A Reincarnator finds an unconscious Traveler and carries her off. It's basically a kidnapping!

Lumine: Please don't make it sound so terrifying.

Paimon: This is bad! The Traveler has been carried away, but what about me? It looks like I haven't even shown up yet.

Clorinde: I am curious about one thing. Paimon, are you and the Traveler always together?

Paimon: Ever since we met, we've been inseparable!

Ningguang: Based on what you're saying, there was a time before you met her. Perhaps this happened before your first encounter.

Lumine: Huh? Does that mean I'm going to miss meeting Paimon?

Paimon: No way! You're still confused right now. Without my guidance, how would you survive?

Venti: Now, now, don't always think the worst. Maybe the moment of your meeting just hasn't arrived yet.

Paimon: That's true. After all, I didn't meet the Traveler until two months after she woke up.

The scene on the light screen shifted.

Stormbearer Mountains, Mondstadt.

A beautiful wooden house stood deep in the woods.

Light shone from the windows.

Inside the room.

Electro Crystals lit up the area.

The lighting was quite bright.

*Mm...*

Lying on the bed, Lumine let out a soft whimper.

She slowly woke up under the warm blankets.

"You're awake."

"Are you feeling any better?"

Lumine didn't answer right away. She just nodded.

She held her head, still feeling dazed from waking up.

"I saw you drowning earlier, so I brought you back to my home," Kael said softly.

So that was what happened.

Lumine gently tapped her forehead.

"Thank you..."

The words of gratitude had just left her mouth.

However, in the next second...

A cool breeze blew under the covers. She felt the smooth texture of the sheets against her skin.

Lumine's face instantly turned bright red.

At that moment, she realized her clothes were hanging by the window.

*Ah!*

A loud scream rang out.

Lumine gripped the quilt tightly and shouted, "You, you, you, you, you..."

Immediately after, Kael's anxious explanation reached her ears.

Kael held up his arm, palm open, and said with a straight face, "I swear, your clothes were soaking wet. I was afraid you'd get sick. That's why I took the liberty."

"I kept my eyes closed the whole time. I absolutely did not see anything I shouldn't have."

At the Abyss Order.

Aether's eyes went blank.

He felt a wave of pure rage gathering in his chest.

"That damn Reincarnator... he actually did that to Lumine..."

"Bastard! Don't let me find you. If I do, I will kill you!"

Even after all his travels, the usually calm Prince of the Abyss lost his mind with fury.

If it weren't for the rules of the screen, Aether would have sent his Abyss Lectors to search all of Teyvat for Kael right now.

That was Lumine's innocence! Kael deserved to die.

Paimon: It's over! The Traveler is going to die of shame. Neuvillette, help!

Neuvillette: This is a matter where it is difficult for me to step in. Where has Furina gone?

Furina: Oh my, oh my. For the Traveler, this isn't really that big of a deal, is it?

Lumine: Bastard! Is Kael in the chat? Come out and explain yourself!

Jean: It feels a bit inappropriate, but the Reincarnator was only acting out of concern for the Traveler.

Lisa: He's a gentle boy, isn't he?

***

Inside Kael's home.

Furina's eyes were glowing with excitement.

Looking completely unbothered, she laughed. "The Traveler is looking for you. Do you want to answer her?"

Answer her?

If he responded now, he'd just get a face full of insults.

"Is she crazy?"

"I didn't expect my past self to do something like that to her either."

"Besides, wasn't I doing it for her own good?"

Furina rubbed her chin, thinking for a moment.

She felt that Kael's logic was sound.

"That's true. You aren't cold-hearted. But for a girl, this kind of thing definitely causes a lot of stress."

"She'll be fine once she calms down."

The light screen continued.

'He didn't see anything he shouldn't have?'

'But he definitely touched everything, right?'

Lumine felt like she was suffocating.

But in her heart, she knew Kael had done it to help her.

The scene fell into an awkward silence.

Finally, Lumine's stomach betrayed her.

*Grumble!*

Kael's eyes shifted.

Lumine's face turned even redder.

"You must be starving," Kael said as he walked toward the window.

"Your clothes are still wet."

"I don't have any spare clothes here, either."

After thinking for a few seconds, Kael spoke again.

"I'll bring the food to you. Just eat in bed; don't get up for now."

"Once you've had your fill, we can have a proper talk."
