Outside the windows, Four Seasons Garden was quiet under the late night. Somewhere far below, the city kept its distant, indifferent hum. Sophie's breathing slowed against his chest. The lamp light cast everything in a soft, warm gold.
Sophie: "Mmm, good right? I made it with so much love... just like everything I do for you."
They were done eating, but Sophie still fed him the last bits of it... But what was remaining isn't deserving to be called last bits since they were still many...
She continued feeding him slowly since they're already full, alternating between chicken and salmon, occasionally stealing little bites for herself while staying comfortably nestled in his lap. Her free hand rested on his chest, fingers tracing lazy circles.
"You're working too hard lately," she said softly, her tone turning caring. "I hate seeing you stressed. That's why I stayed up... I just wanted to be the one who makes everything better for you."
