Sophie read the comments scrolling past and felt the familiar sting of discouragement settle in her chest. Even with an Emperor notification, her audience's default assumption was that nothing good could actually be happening to her. That she wasn't worth the attention. That it had to be a mistake.
She opened her mouth to thank the visitor anyway, fake or not, the polite thing to do was acknowledge the Emperor status, when the gifts started.
Stan said nothing in the chat. He didn't type a greeting. He didn't announce himself. He simply opened his wallet, loaded his account for a full ten minutes without stopping, methodically, patiently, building up a balance large enough to make a statement that would leave no room for doubt, and then began.
