The crowd erupted into frantic whispers.
"Oh my god, Maya Zimmerman is here too?"
"What is happening? Two campus beauties in the same place? Over Stan Harrison?"
"Why is Maya defending him? What's their relationship?"
"I've never seen two school beauties go head to head before. This is unprecedented."
"Stan Harrison must be collecting them. There's no other explanation."
Vivian's eyes narrowed. She hadn't anticipated reinforcements, and certainly not from someone at Maya's social tier.
"Did you know," Vivian said, pivoting to address Maya with icy precision, "that this man stole my umbrella yesterday?"
Maya didn't miss a beat.
"From what I understand, it was his umbrella. He bought it. With his own money. At a convenience store." She tilted her head. "You splashed him with your car, soaked him head to toe, and then tried to take his umbrella by force. If he didn't want to hand it over, how exactly does that make him the thief?"
