'What is this woman up to? I refuse to believe she is genuinely worried about me. I am sure she has a reason for coming here.'
Shelly remained vigilant, refusing to drop her guard against her mother, and her mother seemed to be aware of it as well.
Still, the fact that she was not saying anything reassured Shelly that her mother's visit had a purpose.
"Stop beating around the bush and say why you are here. I don't have time for you to beat around the bush."
Shelly warned her mother, and the woman let out a sigh of regret.
"Tsk, you truly have no filial piety. How can you say such mean things to your mother of all people? But fine! Since you insist, allow me to tell you why I am here. I just need your help with a little experiment."
Her mother's words finally made Shelly relax.
She had almost thought her mother had lost her mind earlier when she was acting like a loving mother.
But this seemed more like her real character.
