Chapter 8 - CHAPTER SIX

When the morning comes, remember that the bright light indicates a fresh start.

The Bolvera Home, The Koa Forest ,Southern Ardeneon

March 18

The closets in the Bolvera house had an abundance of clothes, shoes etcetera. They didn't have to worry about what they'd wear or even eat, the Bolveras took care of it all. It was almost too good to be true, especially for Emily and Dexter as they didn't get to eat much on a daily. Most of the food was different from what they'd been used to, but it was filling.

On the topic of eating, they were all currently having breakfast in the Bolvera dining hall, it was like something out of a movie to them, the place being pristine and gorgeous, not to mention everything looking like it was crafted with immaculate care.

"I know you haven't had a proper introduction yet, but these are my offsprings" Yesani Bolvera beams at them.

"That is my oldest Delta, he's 14" she points at the boy sitting opposite Emily "And my second Amari, she's 12" the girl next to Delta smiles. "And I'm expecting my third, you'll meet my husband soon, he's out for business" they all shower her with congratulations for the baby.

"They will take you to enroll at Lucrari south—which they also attend, I've told them what to say so you don't have to worry about it. If everything goes as planned then you should spend no more than 30 days finding the information you need on your lineage" she tells them as soon as they finished breakfast.

They didn't have school today, because it's the weekend 'At least there's something this world shares in common with earth' Emily thinks.

They all thank Mrs. Bolvera for the food as they left the house.

"It's a 30-minute walk to scire" Amara informs them with a straight face, and they all begin to complain internally.

"But we have our halo cards, so it's actually just two" Delta rolls his eyes at his sister's antics "Stop teasing them Amari"

"Halo cards?" Elijah asks curiously.

"Yeah, ours take a maximum of five people per card, you will get your card a little after enrollment, mother has ordered them already, you have to pay to get a maximum of more than two, our parents made us choose five just in case." Delta explains "So anyways, three people can join me and two can join Amari, hold hands tight and don't let go during the trip."

They get to a purple translucent tube, Delta raises his card in front of the tube and a green ray scanned it, the guys held onto Delta's hands and each other, and they stepped in, just like that they were gone.

Next Emily, Skai and Amari. Amari repeats the process that was performed by her brother and just like that they step into the tube holding hands, a bright light flashes seeming like it would blind them, soon after their eyesight returns, and they are in front of the magnificent building that is Lucrari south.

"This is your school?" Skai's jaw practically drops.

"Scire" Amari and Emily correct her, and they spot the guys who were waiting in front of the building.

Skai shrugs. "'school' 'scire' same thing."

Dexter gapes, turning around as they walk towards the institution making sure he took in every detail. "This is a masterpiece" he breathes out.

"And you said we didn't fall into a fairytale" he nudges Elijah.

"I did say that" Elijah sighs in regret remembering Skai saying the same thing to him 'Why did I say that' he thinks to himself.

Dexter looks around again as they walk this time in doubt and a hint of fear rather than awe. He still hadn't gotten over the whole 'you might be mythical creatures but that's just an assumption' thing. Having the same assumptions about sprites as River he still couldn't believe it.

The school stood tall, basking in the sunlight, the walls of stone and concrete seemed to tell stories of thousands of lives, seemed to have seen thousands of lives, if not years.

The windows themselves, the manner in which they shone proved that they were no ordinary windows, some were almost the length of the building others were normal sized windows positioned orderly throughout the building.

"It's giving Diamond Castle" Skai gasps.

"No, Princess and the pauper" Dexter tells her, that school was in all actuality magnificent.

"No, this is definitely princess charm school" Emily gapes.

"If you guys are done drooling, we actually have to go inside" Amari snickers.

They shook off their initial shock and began to climb the steps that led into the school.

If they thought the outside was gorgeous then they definitely had no words to describe the inside.

To them, it was like something out of a movie, the stone walls possess gold linings in between each brick, there's an arch in the hallway every few feet and in the middle of every two arch there is a dimly lit chandelier, the walls have little light bulbs lining up the hallway, but they are also dimly lit like the chandeliers.

'It's quite cinematic, if you ask me.' Dexter thought.

"The magnus magister is who you register with, his office is just up the stairs" Delta explains as he leads them up a myriad of stairs alongside his little sister to what the five are assuming is the office of this 'magnus magister'

"Who's that?" Elijah inquires, laying out the question that was going through all their minds.

"To put it simply, he is in charge of Lucrari South" Delta explains "I don't know if you will understand that"

"We're unfamiliar, not dumb" River mutters lowly, causing Dexter to stifle a laughter, earning both of them nudges from Elijah.

Emily turns around giving them both a death glare making them to shut up and compose themselves.

"The Magnus Magister is always around, rumor has it that he lives underneath the school." Amari giggles, clearly not paying mind to River's little input.

"You see those buildings?" Delta points at about 10-20 tall towers out the window they were passing. "Those are where the elite students live" He says with a big smile on his face "They're people that are good enough to either work with or be a part of the great council"

"What's the great council?" Skai asks.

"They make all the big decisions here, the great council is composed of individuals with the rarest powers, a wise mind, the monarchs or just people who have proven themselves worthy, council members are chosen every 700 years" he explains.

"700 years?"

"Don't they die?"

"That's incredible"

"700?"

The words flew out of all their mouths, except Emily but she still seemed pretty astonished.

"Death?" Amari asks and they both look horrified.

"Our people don't really die" Amari let us in on that "Not naturally"

"At least we've never met anyone that died naturally, we've heard stories of course but one has to live for at least a millennia before death knocks on their door, when people hit the millennia mark they take them to a special island to enjoy their last couple hundred years, they retire from working then" Amari explains.

"But no one really knows if they really die or just retire, people have of course died... but we don't know them personally and 67% of them were due to skill mismanagement." Delta adds.

"Interesting" Elijah and Emily both mutter.

"We're here" Delta informs them as they arrive in front of the huge thick glass double doors, above the doors was a golden rectangular plate with the words 'MAGNUS MAGISTER' inscribed into it, He lifts his index finger up and presses a button on the diamond doorknob.

The door automatically slides open, and they are faced with a middle-aged man, he looks nothing over 40 years, he's sitting at a big rectangular wooden desk in an even bigger room.

"Hello Bolveras" He pauses "and strangers"

"Blessed morning, Magnus Magister" They both greet bowing a little.

"Yes, 'tis a blessed morning indeed, how may I help you younglins?" he asks

"They are here to enroll, Magnus Magister" Delta speaks up.

As instructed by Mrs. Bolvera the five don't say anything, they let her kids do all the talking.

"And who are they exactly?" The Magnus Magister asks, his voice stern.

"Our distant cousins, from Alpinel" Delta answers calmly, Dexter scoffs to himself wondering how Delta could lie that easily.

In all honestly as nice as Ardeneon is Dexter couldn't wait to get out of there, He just missed home, he missed his guitar and skateboard and sleepovers at Elijah's house.

"And they came all the way from Alpinel to Thairo because?" he trails of in question, waiting for a valid answer.

"Their parents went on a voyage round Ardeneon, so they needed a place to stay"

"And you want me to believe that they all come from the same parents?" He pushes.

Amari steps forward.

"If I may I would like to tell you something privately" she speaks up and he nods.

"They are orphans, their parents died in the voyage, but they don't know that yet, our parents are trying to lay the news down gently" she whispers low enough that only the Magnus Magister could hear her.

He seems to understand. "Okay then" he pauses rummaging through a drawer, before taking a paper out and placing it on his table "put your names down here" he instructs and they walk towards him obliging, following that files were created, and schedules were assigned.

They begin to exit his office when he stops them just as they made it outside "You can collect your uniforms at the beginning of the following week" he calls out as the doors close behind them.

"Uniforms?" Skai asks alarmed.

"You guys didn't say anything about uniforms" Dexter was just as unpleased as Skai about the arrangement.

"Well, you didn't ask" Amari giggles, the little girl seemed to be enjoying seeing them struggle a whole lot, and she wasn't even trying to hide her amusement.
