Chapter 7 - Chapter 5: The Glass Ceiling

By his fourth year in the city, Aryan had moved from the dusty godown to a small logistics firm as a Junior Clerk. He wore a button-down shirt now—second-hand, but neatly pressed. However, the corporate world had its own set of thorns. He was "the village boy" to his colleagues, the one who didn't know how to use a coffee machine or speak with a polished accent. When a vacancy opened for a Senior Coordinator, Aryan was the most hardworking candidate, but he was passed over for a man with a fancy degree and expensive shoes.

Instead of bitterness, Aryan felt a cold clarity. He realized that in the city, hard work was the engine, but networking and "polish" were the fuel. He began spending his lunch hours in the public library, reading business journals and practicing his speech in front of a cracked mirror. He wasn't just working for a salary anymore; he was studying the architecture of success.
