Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Ray sat back down on the park bench after waving goodbye.

He let out a short breath and shook his head.

"…My life's getting stupidly funny," he muttered.

Around him, everything kept moving like normal.

Old people chatting.

Footsteps on gravel.

Birds hopping around like nothing had happened.

Ray glanced to the corner of his vision.

[Global Alter — 00:00:37 Remaining]

"Alright," he said quietly.

"Just gimme my EXP already."

He waited.

Then—

[Ding!]

The blue panel snapped into focus.

---

[Global Alter Ended]

[Hardcore Mission Completed]

Reward Granted:

• +500 EXP

• +300 Alter Points

---

Ray straightened.

The panel didn't stop there.

---

[LEVEL UP]

Level 0 → Level 5

---

"…Damn good," Ray muttered, a grin creeping up.

Another window opened immediately.

---

[New Feature Unlocked]

Alter Building

Description:

Allows the Host to alter common sense within a single enclosed building.

Restrictions:

• Effects apply only inside the building

• Outdoor areas such as parking lots, sidewalks, and open spaces are excluded

• Altered memories will overwrite human perception, but digital records will remain, identical to Global Alter

---

Ray read it twice.

"…Inside one building only," he said slowly.

His brain started lining things up without asking permission.

Gyms.

Apartments.

Offices.

Hotels.

Contained space.

Contained chaos.

"And the footage still sticks around," he added with a crooked smile.

"Yeah… figures."

That actually made it better.

He leaned back, eyes half-lidded.

"Damn," he muttered.

"This one's way more surgical."

Then he frowned.

"…Still feels short though."

Ray tapped the panel again.

"So when do I get to boost the duration?" he asked.

"Ten minutes ain't gonna cut it forever."

The reply came instantly.

---

[System Response]

Duration upgrades unlock at Level 10.

---

Ray let out a low whistle.

"Level ten, huh…"

He stood up, slipped his hands into his jacket pockets, and glanced around the park one last time.

Same benches.

Same trees.

Same calm morning.

Meanwhile, he'd just unlocked the ability to rewrite common sense room by room.

Ray smirked to himself.

"…Yeah," he muttered.

"This is about to get more interesting."
