Chapter 82: Snail-Man and Chameleon-Man

King ignored the newly comprehended Skill and directly sprayed a milky-white liquid at the rapidly rolling Snail-Man. The liquid was like hair gel, incredibly sticky.

Snail-Man struggled relentlessly, but the glue's stickiness was too strong. No matter how much it struggled, it couldn't break free, wasting its energy in vain.
"A new type of human? So, if future archaeologists were to dig both of us up at the same time, they might think I'm your... ancestor?"
King bent his finger and tapped on Snail-Man's hard shell, producing a metallic thud. The hardness of this shell was likely comparable to steel.
"Bastard, how dare you insult me! You're dead, you're absolutely dead."
Snail-Man roared at the top of its lungs.
Axel couldn't help but say, "Mr. King, why not just kill it with one punch?" He felt not a shred of sympathy for Monsters.
"Huh?"
King glanced at Axel but said nothing. He had only used a Two-Star Monster Card; he didn't have the power to smash the snail shell with a single punch. If he had used the Tyrannosaurus Rex Card, he might have been able to try and shatter the Snail-Man, but it would be a waste to use a precious Three-Star Monster Card when a two-star Card could solve the problem.
"King, you're dead! You've offended not just me, but the thousands upon thousands of brothers behind me! If you dare to touch a single hair on my head, they will definitely avenge me."
Snail-Man retracted its body into its shell like a turtle, only shouting from within, refusing to come out.
King looked at Snail-Man curiously. What gave it the confidence to dare to come and kill him, even knowing that he was "King—the Strongest Man on Earth"? And why was it still so arrogant after being captured? It seemed he would have to interrogate it to figure out its backing and prevent any future surprises.
He turned, preparing to look for some special interrogation tools. However, the moment he turned, the whistle of a sharp blade cutting through the air shot past his ear.
"There's someone else?!"
King's heart suddenly tightened. In his alarm, he leaped back several steps, vigilantly scanning his surroundings. His heart pounded wildly, the "thump-thump" sound echoing in the narrow room.

He let out a breath, his heart still racing from the close call. With his current defense, if he had been stabbed in a vital spot, he would be dead for sure. Damn it, this Snail-Man had been shouting so arrogantly just to attract his attention, making it convenient for other assassins to strike.

The invisible person attempted to flee, but unfortunately, their body was covered in glue. Their feet were soon stuck to the floor, unable to break free, suffering the same fate as Snail-Man.

King raised an eyebrow and went forward to fumble through the bloody mess.
"Ding! Congratulations, Host, for obtaining a Two-Star Monster Card: Chameleon-Man."
"So it was a chameleon, merely changing color with the environment to hide its body, not the transparent man I had imagined."
King was slightly disappointed.
