The morning sun awakened all things from their slumber, and the birdsong in the distant woods seemed to be accusing the unreasonable people of yesterday evening.
Ed got up and looked at Adelaide, who was tidying up his room, and said, "Good morning, Adelaide!"

Perhaps it's because they're too young, or perhaps it's for other reasons.
Ed didn't feel the same uncomfortable feeling that Old Butler had when he saw Adelaide, that intimidatingly respectful demeanor.
Ed's room wasn't much to tidy up; it contained a low bed covered with animal hides, a wooden chest, and a wooden bench.
The most valuable item was the iron dagger locked in the wooden box; the silver hilt was quite beautiful. However, from Ed's current perspective, the iron dagger was still too poor.
I heard that this short sword was a gift from Edmund Ironfist, the king of the Kingdom of Lothar, when the Old Lord was still alive.
Just because someone was strong in the past doesn't mean they'll always be strong.
As time goes by, the Old King is becoming increasingly confused, and the various lords of the Kingdom of Lothar are becoming increasingly restless.
But this has nothing to do with Ed; his small, isolated place is looked down upon by others.
There's a reason why people look down on Grey Castle Territory. Apart from a village to the east of the castle, the entire Grey Castle Territory is virtually deserted.
That's why Ed went to the lakeside alone yesterday. The castle is actually well-defended, but the only warrior, Andrew, is sick. Ed doesn't know what illness it is; he's only heard about it from Old Butler.
After getting ready and eating some rough bread, Ed prepared to go out and explore the surrounding villages.
Just as he stood up, preparing to walk towards the castle gate, Adelaide's voice came from behind him: "Are you going out again, Master?"
"Yes, I want to go and see the village."
"Should we inform Butler Marcus and the guards, Master?" Little Maid asked.
"No need, I'm just going to take a look."
Little Maid wasn't really worried about the Lord's safety. In fact, both the Old Lord and the current Lord had a good reputation within Grey Castle Territory.
"May I go with you, Master?"
"Of course, Adelaide. You are a very thoughtful person, thank you for taking care of me."
"Ah! Thank you for your praise, Master." Adelaide was somewhat surprised and lowered her head even further.
The path was a bit slippery in the early morning, probably because of the rain in the past few days, so Ed walked very slowly. But walking slowly doesn't mean it's safe.
"Ah!" Seeing Ed lying on the ground, Adelaide quickly went to help him up.
"It's alright, Adelaide, let's keep going! But having you come along was definitely the right decision." Ed wiped his hands on the grass beside him and straightened himself up.
Upon arriving at the village, which didn't yet have a name, Ed had originally planned to come up with a nice name, but he couldn't think of one in a short time, so he decided to leave it for later!
The children at the village entrance ran away when they saw the lord approaching, and soon after, a gaunt old man came running over.
"Your esteemed lord, your most loyal servant greets you."
"Yes, old village chief, I've received your greetings." Ed said with a slightly mischievous grin.
"Oh, Miss Adelaide, you're here too." The old village chief saw Adelaide. He didn't actually need to address her as "Miss," but it was the Old Lord's instruction. As for why, the Old Lord didn't say.
"Yes, Grandpa Village Chief." Adelaide waved to the old village chief, somewhat pleased.
"Village chief, how's spring planting going this year?" Ed knew that agriculture was very backward, and he wanted to use his knowledge to increase crop yields.
Improving productivity is not something that can be done in a short time; it will take a long time. The most urgent task now is to ensure that the people of the territory are well-fed.
"Everything is almost ready, My Lord."
"Take me to see it."
