Konoha – Rain Country Frontline Command!
Senju Senra stared blankly at the intelligence report in his hand.
Although he had long known how powerful Yoru was, seeing such an outrageous battle record laid out before him still left him deeply shaken.
After all, Kawano Ippei was among the top-tier Jonin of the Hidden Rain—renowned for his powerful Water Release techniques and his signature chakra swordsmanship.
As a frontline commander, his death at Yoru's hands was a devastating blow to the Rain Village.
As for why he lost so miserably—
It could only be said that Kawano Ippei's chakra swordsmanship had been completely countered by Yoru's Akashō Sword.
If he had relied purely on Water Release, he might have had a chance to escape.
But he had been too confident in his swordsmanship… and paid the ultimate price.
Senju Senra's gaze flickered as he recalled his younger brother's words.
Konoha.
Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at the report in his hands with clear satisfaction.
"Truly… Konoha's hope," he murmured as he gazed out the window.
"Mikoto! This is amazing! Yoru is incredible!"
Kushina Uzumaki rushed over the moment she received the news, unable to contain her excitement.
But Mikoto Uchiha looked worried instead.
"Yoru is deep inside the Land of Rain… will he be in danger?"
Her long eyelashes trembled slightly.
"Don't worry!" Kushina said with a grin.
"Don't you always say it yourself? Yoru is the strongest. He'll definitely come back safely."
Mikoto smiled softly.
"Mm… we'll wait for him together."
"W-Who said I'd wait for him?!" Kushina shouted, her face turning bright red.
Not far away, Uchiha Han watched the two girls playing around, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.
Perhaps… it's time I had a talk with Yoru.
Senju Clan.
Tsunade looked at the report, recalling Yoru's words.
Beside her, Nawaki Senju excitedly shouted about how amazing "Big Brother Yoru" was.
Meanwhile, some members of the Senju clan had already begun forming their own thoughts…
With Yoru's sudden rise—
Many power factions within Konoha began to stir.
The rise of a super genius could bring immense benefits… or completely reshape the balance of power.
Some sought to befriend him.
Some wanted to recruit him.
And some… wanted to eliminate him.
While the frontline burned with war—
Konoha's rear was far from peaceful.
Meanwhile, Yoru himself had no idea of the storm he had caused.
At this moment, he had changed into ordinary civilian clothes and was walking toward a nearby village.
Due to his enormous appetite, the food he had brought was nearly gone. He needed to restock.
As he entered the village, he noticed that everyone wore expressions of worry.
Because of the war, food prices here had skyrocketed—nearly five times higher than in Konoha.
Under the shopkeeper's stunned gaze, Yoru bought a large quantity of meat, then found a secluded spot and sealed it all into a storage scroll.
"Thief! Catch the thief!"
Just as he stepped back onto the street, a shout came from his left.
Two children—a boy and a girl—were running toward him, clutching bread in their arms. Behind them, a fat man chased angrily, panting and cursing.
Bang!
The girl didn't notice Yoru and ran straight into his arms.
"They're together! Grab all three of them!" the fat man roared.
"Konan, run!" the orange-haired boy shouted urgently.
"R-Right!"
The girl—Konan—bit her lip, grabbed Yoru's hand, and started running.
"Huff… huff…"
The orange-haired boy and Konan bent over, gasping for breath.
"You're… amazing…" the boy said between breaths, smiling at Yoru.
"We ran so far, and you're not even breathing hard."
"I'm Yahiko. Sorry for dragging you into this," he added, looking a bit guilty.
Konan also looked up at Yoru.
"I'm Konan… I'm really sorry."
Yoru stared at her for a moment.
Konan had soft bluish-purple hair and light amber eyes.
Unlike her future self, she wasn't cold—there was still a gentle, sweet smile on her face.
But what struck him the most… were her eyes.
Pure.
Untainted.
In a war-torn land like this, such innocence was almost unbelievable.
No wonder… she would one day be called an angel by the people of the Rain Country.
"I'm Yoru," he said with a smile after a moment.
"Nice to meet you both."
"I… we didn't steal on purpose," Konan said nervously, misunderstanding his gaze.
"Yahiko and I are war orphans… we really had no choice…"
"I understand," Yoru interrupted gently, offering her a warm smile.
"You could say… I'm a war orphan too."
"Eh…?"
Konan froze, staring at him.
Since losing her parents…
She had never seen a smile like that again.
