Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 5 HUNTING

Darkness swallowed everything.

Then—

The world returned.

Han Chandu opened his eyes slowly, his body steady as his senses adjusted, immediately noticing the cold metallic walls surrounding him, a confined but secure space built from steel, silent yet protective.

A shelter.

A faint panel appeared.

[ Skill Panel ]

Taijutsu → 5 / 5 (Basic Limit Reached)

Super Body → Locked

Geno Lock → Not Opened

[ Location ]

→ Steel Armor Shelter (Personal)

His gaze remained calm, because he understood one thing clearly—

This place was his alone.

No one else.

No help.

No support.

Only himself.

A slow breath left him as he walked toward the large metal gate, his steps controlled, his senses already sharpening as he approached the only exit.

Then—

He pushed it open.

The outside world revealed itself instantly.

A dense wilderness.

Silent.

Dangerous.

Alive.

He stepped out.

Careful.

Measured.

And then—

He stopped.

Because someone stood not far ahead.

Familiar.

Still.

Watching.

Han Sen.

For a brief moment—

Both of them froze.

Not in shock.

But in recognition.

Different shelters.

Same place.

"…you made it," Han Sen said quietly.

Han Chandu gave a small nod.

That was enough.

No explanation needed.

No surprise required.

Because both of them already understood—

This world didn't separate them completely.

It only tested them.

Together—

But not dependent.

Their gazes shifted toward the forest ahead.

The air felt heavier.

The silence deeper.

And somewhere within it—

Something moved.

Han Chandu's fingers tightened slightly.

"…stay sharp," he said.

Han Sen didn't reply.

But he didn't move away either.

That was his answer.

Two brothers.

Two paths.

Now one direction.

Forward.

The forest didn't welcome them.

It watched.

Silent.

Unmoving.

Alive in a way that made every step feel like it was being measured, judged, and remembered.

Han Chandu stood still for a moment after stepping out of his shelter, his senses stretched to their limit, his breathing controlled, his body grounded, while a short distance ahead, Han Sen remained just as still, his gaze sharp, scanning everything without missing a single detail.

No words were needed.

They had already understood—

This wasn't a place where talking helped.

"…we don't go deep," Han Chandu said quietly.

Han Sen gave a small nod.

Agreement.

Simple.

Clear.

They moved.

Slow.

Careful.

Each step placed with intention, avoiding unnecessary sound, their eyes constantly shifting, observing the surroundings, the ground, the trees, the shadows, because here—

Anything could be danger.

The air felt heavier as they went forward, the silence occasionally breaking with faint sounds—leaves moving, distant rustling, something unseen shifting just beyond their vision.

Han Sen's hand tightened slightly.

"…something's here," he said under his breath.

Han Chandu didn't respond.

But he had already noticed.

A faint movement.

To the right.

Low.

Fast.

Then—

It appeared.

A small creature burst out from the bushes, its body low to the ground, covered in rough gray fur, its eyes sharp and aggressive, its movements quick and unpredictable, like a wild beast driven purely by instinct.

It didn't hesitate.

It attacked.

Straight at them.

Fast.

Han Sen reacted first, stepping back slightly, his body turning instinctively as he raised his arm, barely avoiding the initial strike as the creature's claws cut through the air where he had been standing.

"Fast—!" he muttered.

Han Chandu moved immediately.

No hesitation.

No panic.

He stepped forward instead of back.

Closing distance.

His fist shot out.

The punch landed—

But not clean.

The creature twisted mid-motion, reducing the impact as it slid to the side, its body agile, its reaction faster than expected.

Not weak.

Not slow.

This wasn't training.

This was real.

The creature lunged again.

This time toward Han Chandu.

He shifted his stance, his body reacting faster than before, his training showing in small ways, not perfect, not refined, but enough to avoid a direct hit as the claws grazed past him.

Too close.

Han Sen stepped in.

A rough kick aimed at the creature's side.

It connected.

Partially.

Enough to push it back.

But not enough to stop it.

The creature let out a low sound, its eyes sharpening further as it circled them, adjusting, watching, waiting for an opening.

Han Chandu's breathing remained steady.

But his focus deepened.

"…don't rush," he said quietly.

Han Sen didn't reply.

But he slowed slightly.

Adjusted.

The creature moved again.

Faster this time.

Targeting Han Sen.

Han Chandu stepped in immediately, his body moving without delay, his punch aimed more carefully this time, not at the body—

But the head.

The impact landed.

Solid.

The creature staggered slightly.

Just for a moment.

But that moment—

Was enough.

Han Sen didn't miss it.

He stepped forward and kicked again, this time with more force, his leg connecting cleanly with the creature's side, sending it crashing into the ground.

It struggled.

Tried to rise.

But slower now.

Weaker.

Han Chandu moved in.

No hesitation.

His fist came down again.

Direct.

Controlled.

Final.

The creature stopped moving.

Silence returned.

Heavy.

Still.

Both of them remained where they were, their breathing slightly uneven, their bodies tense, not relaxing immediately, because instinct told them—

It might not be over.

Seconds passed.

Nothing moved.

Only then—

They stepped back.

Han Sen exhaled slowly.

"…that wasn't easy," he said.

Han Chandu didn't respond immediately.

His gaze remained on the creature.

Because he understood something clearly now—

Even something small here—

Was dangerous.

A faint panel appeared before his eyes.

[ Skill Panel ]

Taijutsu → 5 / 5 (Basic Limit Reached)

Super Body → Locked

Geno Lock → Not Opened

[ Notification ]

→ Basic Creature Killed

→ No Gene Points Gained

His eyes narrowed slightly.

No gain.

No reward.

"…so it's not that simple," he murmured.

Han Sen glanced at him.

"Nothing here is," he replied.

Silence followed.

But it wasn't the same as before.

Now—

It carried understanding.

Reality.

This world didn't reward effort easily.

It demanded more.

Han Chandu straightened slowly, his body still carrying tension, his mind already adjusting, already analyzing, already preparing for what came next.

"…we're still at the bottom," he said quietly.

Han Sen didn't argue.

Because it was true.

A small creature had already pushed them this far.

Stronger ones—

Would be worse.

Much worse.

The forest remained silent.

Watching.

Waiting.

And as the two brothers stood there, facing the reality of this new world—

Neither of them stepped back.

Because now—

They had already taken their first step forward.

And there was no going back.
