I was sitting on the big sofa at the edge of the room.
Apparently, I had been "invited" to stay.
In reality?
Keifer had just pulled me here without asking.
Again.

The mafia men were sitting around the table discussing routes, security, and something about a shipment.
I understood maybe 10% of it.
The rest sounded like grown-up chaos.

And then—
Keifer came in.
---
Black shirt sleeves rolled up.
Hair slightly messy.
Expression cold.
Boss mode fully on.

Everyone immediately straightened.
Even the air felt different.
---
He didn't even sit properly.
Just stood behind the chair at the head of the table.
Eyes scanning everything.
Sharp.
Focused.
Dangerous.

Then his gaze shifted to me.
And instantly—
softer.
---
He walked over without saying anything.
And before I could even react—
he pulled me slightly closer to him.
Like a habit.
Like instinct.

Then he sat down.
And pulled me with him.
Into his lap.

No explanation.
No embarrassment.
Just:
> "Stay."

The entire room went silent for half a second.
One of the men coughed awkwardly.
Another looked away like he suddenly forgot how to breathe.

I blinked.
"…I could sit normally."
Keifer didn't even look at me.
> "No."
Simple.
Final.

And then—
he leaned his head against my shoulder.
Like it was completely normal.
Like the mafia meeting didn't exist anymore.

"…Keifer," I whispered.
He hummed softly.
Already half distracted.

"You're supposed to be working."
A pause.
Then:
> "I am."
While literally using me as a pillow.

And that's when the door opened again.

Keifer's POV
I felt it before I saw it.
Something soft.
Something small.
Something fluffy.

My eyes lifted immediately.
---
A white cat.
Walking in like it owned the place.
---
I froze.
---
"…what is that."
---
Jay's face lit up instantly.
"Oh my God— MOCHI!"
---
She got off my lap immediately.
I didn't like that part.
At all.

The cat jumped into her arms.
And she immediately started kissing its cheeks.
Over.
And over.
Like it was the most precious thing in the world.

I stared.
Completely still.
---
One of my men leaned slightly toward another:
> "…Boss is about to lose it."

I stood up slowly.
Walked toward them.
Calm.
Controlled.

The room got quiet instantly.
---
I crouched slightly in front of the cat.
Mochi blinked at me.
Unbothered.
---
I stared at it.
Long silence.
---
Then I said:
"…don't go near her."
---
Jay blinked.
"…what?"
---
I pointed slightly at the cat.
Still dead serious.
> "You heard me."

The men went silent.
One of them whispered:
> "He's threatening a cat."
---
Mochi just rubbed against Jay again.
Traitor behavior.

My jaw tightened slightly.
---
Jay looked at me like I was insane.
"…Keifer, it's a cat."
---
I looked at her.
Then at the cat.
Then back at her.
---
"…you're mine."
Small pause.
"…not it."

---
Silence.
Then—
Jay started laughing.
Actually laughing.

And that made it worse.
Because now she was hugging the cat AGAIN.
Kissing its head AGAIN.
Ignoring me AGAIN.

I exhaled slowly.
Something dangerous building inside my chest.
Not anger.
Something worse.
---
I walked closer.
Sat down beside her.
Too close.
---
She didn't move away.
Just kept holding Mochi.
---
I stared at her for a second.
Then slowly—
I lifted my hand.
Pointed at my own cheek.
---
"…kiss me too."
---
Jay froze.
"…what?"
---
I didn't repeat it.
Just waited.
Expression calm.
Completely serious.
---
One of the men literally choked trying not to laugh.
---
Jay looked between me and Mochi.
"…you're jealous of a cat."
---
I didn't deny it.
---
Silence.
Then she sighed dramatically.
Put Mochi down.
And leaned slightly toward me.
---
Soft kiss on my cheek.
Quick.
Warm.
---
I paused.
---
Then quietly:
"…better."
---
Jay rolled her eyes.
"You're insane."
---
I leaned back slightly.
Pulled her closer again.
Back into my space.
Like she belonged there more than anything else in the room.

And from that moment—
Mochi was officially my enemy. 😭🤍
