Chapter 63 - He is deeply in love

✦ CHAPTER — "Come Here." ✦

Jayjay's POV

By the time we got home from university—

both of us looked exhausted.

---

My feet hurt.

My head hurt.

And honestly?

I just wanted attention.

---

Keifer loosened his tie the second he entered the apartment.

Phone already in his hand.

Laptop open five minutes later.

---

Meanwhile—

I stared at him from the kitchen like he personally offended me.

---

Because lately—

work kept stealing him from me.

---

I walked toward the couch dramatically and dropped beside him.

---

"…hi."

---

"Hm."

---

Excuse me?

---

I frowned immediately.

---

"That's all I get?"

---

This time he glanced at me briefly.

Tired eyes. Messy hair. Sleeves rolled up.

---

"You've been beside me all day."

---

"And I still missed you."

---

Normally that line would've made him pull me closer instantly.

---

Today—

he just sighed quietly while typing again.

---

RUDE.

---

I leaned against his shoulder anyway.

Trying to steal attention manually now.

---

"…Keifer."

---

"Hm?"

---

"…pay attention to me."

---

"I am."

---

"You literally aren't."

---

Silence.

---

Then finally—

his fingers stopped moving.

---

"Jay," he muttered tiredly,

"I have work to finish."

---

Something in me deflated immediately.

---

Because I knew that.

---

But still…

I wanted him.

---

"…you always have work lately."

---

Wrong thing to say.

---

I knew it instantly from the way his jaw tightened.

---

"And you think I enjoy that?"

---

His voice wasn't loud.

Just exhausted.

---

But it still hurt.

---

I looked away slightly.

---

"I didn't say that."

---

Another heavy silence filled the room.

---

Then finally—

Keifer closed his eyes briefly and rubbed his forehead.

---

"…I can't do this right now."

---

That stung way more than it should have.

---

Because suddenly—

I felt clingy.

Annoying.

Too much.

---

So I slowly stood up from the couch.

---

"…fine."

---

This time—

he let me go.

---

And honestly?

That hurt most.

---

Author's POV

Jay walked quietly toward the bedroom.

No dramatic slam.

No tears.

Just silence.

---

Meanwhile—

Keifer stayed on the couch staring at the laptop screen without actually reading anything anymore.

---

Because suddenly—

the apartment felt wrong.

---

Too quiet.

---

Too far.

---

Keifer's POV

Damn it.

---

I leaned back against the couch tiredly.

Phone buzzing again beside me.

Another message.

Another problem.

---

But somehow—

none of it mattered right now.

---

Because all I could think about was Jay's face before she walked away.

---

That quiet disappointed look.

---

And the worst part?

She wasn't even asking for much.

---

Just me.

---

I looked toward the hallway.

---

Then at the untouched work in front of me.

---

"…forget it."

---

Author's POV

Fifteen minutes later—

Keifer quietly pushed open the bedroom door.

---

Jay sat near the edge of the bed wearing one of his hoodies now.

Scrolling on her phone.

Pretending she wasn't sad.

---

The sight alone made guilt twist painfully in his chest.

---

Jayjay's POV

I heard the door open.

But didn't look up immediately.

---

Mostly because I was still upset.

---

Then suddenly—

the mattress dipped behind me.

---

Warm arms wrapped slowly around my waist.

---

And before I could react—

Keifer buried his face against the side of my neck tiredly.

---

"…sorry."

---

My heart melted immediately.

Annoyingly fast.

---

Still—

I tried staying offended.

---

"For what?"

---

"For being grumpy."

His voice muffled against my neck.

"And ignoring you."

A pause.

"And being a terrible husband for the last hour."

---

A tiny laugh escaped me before I could stop it.

---

Keifer tightened his arms around me instantly at the sound.

---

"There she is."

---

"…don't act cute now."

---

"Too late."

---

I finally turned slightly toward him.

---

And honestly?

He looked exhausted.

---

Not cold.

Not distant.

Just tired.

---

Dark circles under his eyes again.

Hair messy from stress.

Expression softer now that he was holding me.

---

My irritation faded immediately.

---

"…you should sleep."

---

"Mm."

He moved even closer somehow.

"Wanna stay like this first."

---

Clingy.

---

Very clingy.

---

And somehow—

I loved this version of him most.

---

I sighed softly before brushing my fingers through his hair gently.

---

"…wait here."

---

He frowned immediately.

---

"Where are you going?"

---

"To make coffee."

---

"…come back quickly."

---

I stared at him.

---

"You're literally acting like a child right now."

---

"And whose fault is that?"

---

Mine apparently 😭

---

Author's POV

A little while later—

Keifer rested with his head in Jay's lap on the couch.

---

Coffee untouched now because he was too sleepy to drink it properly.

---

Jay's fingers moved slowly through his hair while he rested quietly against her.

---

No work.

No phone.

No stress for once.

---

Just them.

---

Later That Night

---

The room stayed dark and quiet.

---

Jay slept peacefully beneath the blankets—

until strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind.

---

Keifer pulled her closer instinctively in sleep.

Face resting against the side of her neck.

---

Like even unconscious—

he needed her near him.

---

Still sleepy—

Jay's hand moved gently against his chest beneath his shirt.

---

And almost immediately—

his hold tightened softly around her.

---

Safe.

Warm.

Home. 😭🤍

✦ CHAPTER — "Five More Minutes." ✦

Jayjay's POV

The first thing I felt that morning—

was warmth.

---

Warm arms wrapped tightly around my waist.

A familiar heartbeat against my back.

Slow breathing near my neck.

---

Keifer.

---

I smiled sleepily without opening my eyes yet.

---

Because somehow—

this man always turned into the clingiest person alive while sleeping.

---

I shifted slightly beneath the blankets.

Trying to move.

---

Instantly—

his arms tightened around me.

---

"…don't."

---

His voice came out rough and sleepy against my neck.

---

I laughed softly.

---

"We have university."

---

"No we don't."

---

"…yes we do."

---

Silence.

---

Then quietly—

---

"Five more minutes."

---

I turned slightly to look at him properly.

---

Messy black hair.

Eyes barely open.

Face still half buried near my neck.

---

And honestly?

Mafia boss Keifer Watson looked way too soft like this.

---

"You said that ten minutes ago."

---

"Didn't mean it then either."

---

RUDE.

---

I tried pulling away again.

---

Big mistake.

---

Because suddenly—

Keifer dragged me back against him properly.

---

A quiet surprised sound escaped me immediately.

---

"Keifer—"

---

"No."

He buried his face against my shoulder again.

"You're warm. Stay there."

---

I stared at the ceiling dramatically.

---

"This is kidnapping."

---

"Hm."

---

"…you agree?"

---

"Mm."

A tiny pause.

"Go back to sleep."

---

I laughed softly despite myself.

---

Because this man seriously expected me to skip university just to stay in bed with him.

---

Meanwhile—

his hand slipped beneath my hoodie slightly just to rest against my waist properly.

---

Warm fingers against skin.

---

Dangerous.

---

My heartbeat betrayed me instantly.

---

"…you're distracting."

---

"You love me."

---

That stupid line again 😭

---

Before I could reply—

his phone suddenly rang loudly from the nightstand.

---

The entire mood changed immediately.

---

Keifer sighed tiredly against my shoulder.

---

"…ignore it."

---

But the phone kept ringing.

---

Again.

And again.

---

Eventually—

he groaned quietly and finally reached for it.

---

I watched silently as his expression changed while listening.

---

The softness disappeared slowly.

Jaw tightening.

Eyes colder now.

---

Mafia Keifer.

---

"…I'll handle it."

---

The call ended.

---

And suddenly—

the warm sleepy atmosphere in the room felt gone.

---

I sat up slowly.

---

"…problem?"

---

Keifer rubbed his forehead tiredly before looking toward me again.

---

The coldness in his expression softened immediately.

---

"Nothing you need to worry about."

---

Which usually meant: absolutely something to worry about 😭

---

Later That Day

---

Rain poured heavily outside the abandoned warehouse.

---

The atmosphere felt tense.

Dangerous.

---

Several men stood silently nearby while Keifer spoke coldly to one of them.

---

And honestly?

This version of him still shocked me sometimes.

---

Calm.

Sharp.

Terrifying without even raising his voice.

---

"You failed the deal."

Keifer's tone stayed quiet.

Deadly quiet.

"And somehow thought lying about it would help?"

---

The man swallowed nervously.

---

Meanwhile—

I sat nearby on one of the chairs wearing Keifer's black jacket around my shoulders.

---

Mostly because he forced me to.

---

"You're cold," he had said earlier.

Then wrapped it around me himself before anyone could react 😭

---

Now all his men kept secretly glancing between us.

---

Because apparently—

their terrifying boss acting soft around his wife remained shocking.

---

Then suddenly—

a loud noise echoed outside the warehouse.

---

Everything happened instantly after that.

---

Keifer moved before I even fully processed it.

---

One second I was sitting—

the next—

he had lifted me into his arms completely.

---

Like I weighed nothing.

---

One arm securely around me.

The other holding a gun.

---

My breath caught slightly as instinctively I buried my face against his neck.

---

Meanwhile—

his men immediately surrounded us.

---

"Boss—"

---

"Stay behind me."

---

His voice turned ice cold instantly.

---

The atmosphere became suffocating.

---

Dangerous.

---

But somehow—

inside Keifer's arms—

I still felt safe.

---

Always safe.

---

A few tense moments later—

the situation settled quickly.

---

False alarm.

---

But Keifer still didn't put me down immediately.

---

Instead—

he looked down at me carefully first.

---

Hands brushing softly against my face.

---

"…you okay?"

---

I blinked slightly.

---

"…you're holding a gun."

---

"And?"

---

"…and you're asking ME if I'm okay?"

---

"Yes."

---

Like the answer was obvious 😭🤍

---

One of the men nearby looked genuinely stunned now.

---

Because apparently—

seeing Keifer Watson hold someone like they were precious glass while carrying a gun was not normal.

---

Then suddenly—

Keifer narrowed his eyes at me slightly.

---

"…did you eat today?"

---

I froze.

---

Oh no.

---

"…yes?"

---

Silence.

---

That expression meant: he knew I was lying

---

"You skipped lunch again."

---

"…I was busy."

---

"You're always busy."

He adjusted his hold on me slightly.

"And somehow still forget to eat."

---

"…put me down first."

---

"No."

---

"Keifer."

---

"No."

---

I stared at him.

---

Meanwhile—

his men looked one second away from losing their minds.

---

Because their terrifying mafia boss was currently arguing with his wife about FOOD while holding her like a child 😭🤣

---

Then one of them accidentally spoke.

---

"…Boss?"

---

Keifer's eyes immediately turned cold again.

---

"What?"

---

The poor man looked terrified instantly.

---

Then awkwardly glanced toward me still in his arms.

---

"…you've never carried any of us like that before."

---

Silence.

---

I choked instantly trying not to laugh.

---

Meanwhile—

Keifer looked completely unimpressed.

---

"…are you asking me to?"

---

The man nearly stopped breathing 😭🤣

---

And for the first time all day—

I saw the tiniest smile pull at the corner of Keifer's mouth while he held me closer against him 💛🫀

✦ CHAPTER — "Boss Said No." ✦

Jayjay's POV

Being married to Keifer Watson had many disadvantages.

---

One of the worst?

---

Everyone listened to him.

---

Including his mafia men apparently 😭

---

I sat on one of the chairs inside the lounge area of the warehouse while scrolling through my phone boredly.

---

Meanwhile—

several of Keifer's men stood nearby discussing something serious.

---

Keyword: serious.

---

Unlike me.

---

Because currently—

I wanted snacks.

---

Very badly.

---

My eyes landed on a box of chocolates sitting near the table instantly.

---

Jackpot.

---

I stood up immediately and walked toward one of the men with my sweetest smile.

---

"…can I have that?"

---

The poor guy looked terrified instantly.

---

Mostly because: nobody knew how to say no to me anymore 😭

---

He awkwardly glanced toward the chocolates.

---

Then back at me.

---

"…Madam…"

---

"Please?"

---

I even pointed at the box dramatically.

---

The man looked like he was fighting for his life internally now.

---

Finally—

he sighed weakly.

---

"…Boss said you already had too much sugar today."

---

Excuse me???

---

I stared at him in betrayal.

---

"He WHAT?"

---

Another man nearby immediately looked away to hide his laugh.

---

Meanwhile—

I crossed my arms dramatically.

---

"That's actually rude."

---

"He specifically told us not to give you snacks if you asked."

---

I gasped.

---

"So he planned this?"

---

The men failed miserably at hiding their amusement now.

---

Because apparently—

watching their boss's wife act personally victimized over snacks was entertaining 😭

---

I pouted immediately.

---

"…traitors."

---

"Madam—"

---

"No."

I pointed accusingly.

"You're all fake."

---

One of them actually melted a little.

---

Because unfortunately—

the pout was working 😭

---

The guy holding the chocolates slowly started moving the box toward me anyway.

---

Victory 😎

---

But before I could grab it—

a familiar voice spoke behind us calmly.

---

"…interesting."

---

Silence.

---

Immediate silence.

---

The entire room straightened instantly.

---

Meanwhile—

I froze.

---

Because Keifer stood near the entrance now.

---

Black shirt.

Sleeves rolled.

Cold sharp expression.

---

Terrifying to everyone else.

---

Unfortunately for him—

I was still offended 😭

---

I turned dramatically away from him.

---

"Hm."

---

The men looked seconds away from passing out now.

---

Because apparently: ignoring Keifer Watson required bravery 😭🤣

---

Slow steady footsteps approached.

---

Then suddenly—

warm fingers tilted my chin upward slightly.

---

Before I could react—

Keifer pressed a soft quick kiss against my pout.

---

Directly in front of everyone.

---

The entire room looked traumatized instantly 😭

---

Meanwhile—

Keifer looked completely unbothered.

---

"What's wrong?" he asked calmly.

---

I stared at him in disbelief.

---

"YOU told them not to give me snacks."

---

A tiny almost-smile appeared near the corner of his mouth.

---

"You already ate too much junk food today."

---

"That's not true."

---

"It is."

---

I gasped dramatically.

---

"You're supposed to be on MY side."

---

"I am on your side."

Another soft kiss near my forehead this time.

"Which is why I'm keeping you alive."

---

RUDE.

---

The men nearby looked genuinely shocked now.

---

Because somehow— their terrifying mafia boss had gone from threatening people earlier…

to kissing his wife's pout over snacks 😭🤣

---

I crossed my arms again stubbornly.

---

"I still want chocolate."

---

Keifer sighed softly before pulling me against his side automatically.

---

"No."

---

"Keifer."

---

"No."

---

"…just one?"

---

"You said that four chocolates ago."

---

The betrayal I felt 😭

---

Meanwhile—

one of the mafia men quietly whispered to another:

---

"…Boss is gone."

---

Completely gone 😭🖤🤍

✦ CHAPTER — "Boss's Wife." ✦

Jayjay's POV

At this point—

Keifer's men listened to me more than they listened to him 😭

Or maybe they were just scared of upsetting me.

Honestly?

Probably both.

By now—

I had fully gotten comfortable around them.

Which apparently was dangerous.

Because currently—

I sat on one of the warehouse tables swinging my legs slightly while two of Keifer's men stood nearby looking exhausted.

"…I'm bored."

Neither of them answered.

Smart.

I pointed toward the drinks fridge dramatically.

"Can someone get me juice?"

Immediately—

both moved 😭🤣

I tried not to laugh.

Because this was honestly becoming way too easy.

One of them handed me the drink carefully.

"…thank you."

Then I pointed toward the box near the floor.

"And move that too."

"…yes Madam."

I blinked.

Then slowly smiled.

Oh.

I liked that title 😭

Meanwhile—

the men looked seconds away from becoming my personal assistants forever.

Which honestly? Wasn't my fault.

Maybe.

Then suddenly—

one of them leaned closer slightly.

"…Madam, Boss doesn't know we bought you snacks yesterday right?"

I gasped dramatically.

"Of course not."

I lowered my voice too.

"This operation stays between us."

The men actually laughed quietly now.

Which felt illegal somehow 😭

Then another one sighed dramatically.

"…Boss is going to kill us one day because of you."

I smiled innocently.

"Not if I protect you."

"…that's somehow more terrifying."

Fair enough 😭🤣

Later — University

The hallway buzzed loudly with students moving everywhere.

Meanwhile—

I stood near my classroom with Freya beside me while two of Keifer's men carried several heavy boxes behind us.

Freya stared.

Then stared again.

"…Jay."

"Hm?"

"…why are mafia men carrying your stuff?"

I looked back casually.

"Oh."

I shrugged.

"I told Keifer I needed help and somehow he sent his men instead."

The two men behind me looked deeply tired already 😭🤣

Freya looked one second away from fainting.

"You're casually saying this like it's NORMAL?"

"It is normal now."

Then one of the boxes nearly slipped from the man's hands.

I pointed immediately.

"Careful. That one has my books."

"…yes Madam."

Freya grabbed my arm dramatically.

"WHY ARE THEY LISTENING TO YOU LIKE THAT?!"

Before I could answer—

a familiar calm voice spoke behind us.

"Because she bosses everyone around now."

I turned immediately.

Keifer stood there wearing all black again.

Sharp gaze. Cold expression.

Professor mode fully activated.

Except—

the second his eyes landed on me—

his expression softened slightly.

Tiny. But noticeable.

Very noticeable 😭

Freya saw it too and nearly lost her mind.

Meanwhile—

Keifer looked toward the men carrying my boxes.

"…why are YOU two here?"

The poor guys froze instantly.

Then one answered carefully.

"Boss…Madam asked for help."

Keifer looked at me slowly.

I smiled proudly.

"They're useful."

One of the men actually looked emotional at the compliment 😭🤣

Keifer sighed softly before stepping closer.

Then casually adjusted the sleeve falling off my shoulder.

Right there in the hallway.

In front of everyone.

Like he didn't even realize how naturally affectionate he'd become with me now.

Meanwhile—

half the students stared openly 😭

Then suddenly—

one of Keifer's men spoke quietly near him.

"…Boss."

"What?"

"…Madam fed us information earlier."

I froze instantly.

TRAITOR 😭

Keifer narrowed his eyes slightly.

"…what information?"

The man pointed at me dramatically.

"She told us you only act scary because you secretly love attention from her."

FREEDOM OF SPEECH WAS A MISTAKE 😭🤣

Freya started choking laughing beside me.

Meanwhile—

Keifer stared at me silently.

Then slowly—

very slowly—

he stepped closer until he stood directly in front of me.

"…did you now?"

"…maybe?"

The tiny dangerous look in his eyes should've scared me.

Instead—

it just made my heartbeat stupidly fast again 😭

Then quietly near my ear—

"You're getting brave lately."

My face immediately got warm.

Meanwhile—

his men looked absolutely traumatized watching their terrifying boss flirt in a university hallway 😭🤣

Later That Night

Rain poured softly outside the apartment windows.

The lights stayed dim.

Warm.

Comfortable.

And somehow—

both of us ended up sharing one oversized black hoodie while sitting together on the couch 😭🤍

Technically—

Keifer wore it first.

Then I got cold.

And somehow this happened.

Now I sat between his legs with the hoodie stretched around both of us while one of his arms rested securely around my waist beneath the fabric.

Warm skin against warm skin.

Dangerously comfortable.

"You steal all my clothes," Keifer murmured near my ear.

"You're wearing this too."

"Because you forced yourself inside it."

"That sounds like a YOU problem."

A quiet laugh escaped him.

Soft.

Real.

My heart melted immediately.

Then slowly—

Keifer rested his chin against my shoulder.

Pulling me slightly closer against him.

The room stayed quiet after that.

Only rain outside. Only warmth. Only him.

And honestly?

I think this might've been my favorite version of us 🤌🏻🩷
