Chapter 2 - Connecting with Big Streamer Melissa Day

After a quick wash, Hudson changed his clothes and sat in front of the computer once again.

He skillfully opened the streaming software.

Instantly, all the fans who followed Hudson received a notification that he was live, and they flocked into the streaming room one after another.

"Wait, streaming again???"

"Didn't you just say you had enough streaming hours for the month and were going to rest for two days?"

"Good grief, it's almost been 24 hours. Streamer, do you really never rest?"

"Take it easy, man. There are still a few days left in the month. There's no need to make up all the hours in one go. Don't work yourself to death."

"..."

Seeing the chat filled with concern for him, Hudson felt a warmth in his heart.

Although the agency he'd signed with was terrible, at least he still had so many caring fans.

Now that his contract with the agency had expired, even without the system, he could live quite well relying on these fans.

Thinking of this, he said to the audience in the streaming room, "Guys, I just checked, and I'm still short by two hours. I'll stream for two more hours, and then I'll go to sleep."

Hearing Hudson's words, the audience in the streaming room started giving him suggestions.

"It's only two hours. Can't you just stream anything?"

"Exactly. It's just two hours. Just browse YouTube or watch some TV to pass the time."

"Worst case, connect with a big streamer, chat a bit, and leech some of their fans. Stop playing games."

"Twenty-something hours... I'm tired of watching. Aren't you tired of playing yet?"

"..."

Originally, Hudson wanted to continue playing ranked matches for two hours to make up the time for his sign-in, but seeing how resistant the audience was...

He had no choice but to say, "Since everyone doesn't want to watch me play games, I'll switch to some other content. Let's browse YouTube together for a while."

As he spoke, Hudson opened YouTube.

However, as soon as he opened the webpage, the streaming assistant issued a warning to him.

[External traffic diversion, one warning!]

Hudson: ...

Seeing the warning, Hudson said helplessly, "Guys, you saw that. The platform won't let me browse it."

The chat in the streaming room saw the warning and began to complain one after another.

"Damn it. Big streamers can browse whatever they want without it being called diversion, but as soon as a small streamer does it, it's external traffic diversion?"

"I'm speechless. Don't those big streamers all pass their time like this? But when it's us, it's external traffic diversion?"

"Actually, it has nothing to do with the size of the streamer. Our Hudson still has some fans. It's mainly because he's terminated his contract now. This is what happens when you're not signed with an agency."

"Yes, streamers without a signed agency don't have the right to browse YouTube."

"This is actually a good thing. Hudson should have terminated his contract with that crappy agency long ago. If he'd switched to any other agency, our Hudson would already be a big streamer in the gaming section by now."

"..."

The agency Hudson was previously signed to was quite notorious on Twitch. Any viewer with a bit of knowledge about the streaming industry knew what kind of operation that agency ran.

That's why they felt it wasn't worth it for Hudson.

Without the agency's help, he was still being bled dry by them.

The key was that even without help from an agency, Hudson had managed to reach two or three thousand people in his streaming room. If he'd had help from a good agency, he would definitely have become a big streamer!

"Alright, alright, guys. Anyway, I've already left the agency, so there's no need to talk about it anymore. Since the platform won't let us browse YouTube, let's look at something else."

As he spoke, Hudson began searching his streaming page to see if there were any programs to pass the time and make up the hours.

Just then, a pop-up appeared on the page.

[Streamer Support Event in full swing!]

Hudson glanced at it and found that it was actually an official pop-up.

This piqued his interest.

He clicked to learn more, and Hudson understood what it was.

This was a streamer support event organized by Twitch's officials. Any small-scale streamer who applied to join would be matched with a larger-scale streamer for a joint stream.

If a small-scale streamer seized the opportunity and attracted the attention of the big streamer's fans, they could change the status of their own streaming room through this connection.

Because Hudson clicked on it directly, the audience in the streaming room also saw this scene, and they all became excited.

"Hudson, go connect with a big streamer!"

"Exactly! Although there aren't many of us, we're all true fans. Go find them for a collab, and we'll go support you."

"Let's go, Hudson! Go crash their party!"

"Don't worry, Hudson. I'm already taking out a loan; it'll be approved soon!"

"Wait for it, Hudson. My donation is coming soon. Today, you must give those big streamers a little shock!"

"..."

Hudson: ...

"Don't do that, guys. Loans? Even massive donations are mentioned. You're trying to get me banned by the officials."

Hudson advised the audience in the streaming room, "It's fine to joke around, but don't take it seriously. I've been streaming for a year and have never asked you to take out loans to send donations. Don't lead the new people astray."

Actually, Hudson knew the audience was just trolling, but since he didn't have an agency now, he was truly afraid of being targeted.

If he really couldn't stream anymore, he wouldn't even be able to use his system.

However, seeing that everyone wanted to see him connect with other streamers, Hudson applied for the streamer support anyway.

The system monitored Hudson's scale and quickly approved it.

A few minutes later, the words "Matching in progress" appeared for Hudson.

"Guys, let's see which big streamer the system has arranged for us."

Hudson said with a smile.

As soon as he finished speaking, the screen in the streaming room split in two.

On the left was Hudson's computer desktop.

And on the right was Twitch's famous big streamer, Melissa Day!

The moment they saw Melissa Day, the audience in Hudson's streaming room was stunned.

"Huh??? No way, he actually matched with a big streamer?"

"The officials are playing for real? I thought they were just kidding?"

"Hudson, don't actually do a competition. Melissa's scale is not something we can compete with."

"Exactly, even a massive donation won't save you."

On the other side, Melissa couldn't see the chat in Hudson's streaming room, but seeing that her connection was just a desktop, she couldn't help but frown slightly.

"Hey, you're the streamer called... Hudson, right? You don't even turn on your camera for a connection?"

Hearing Melissa's words, Hudson remembered that because he streamed games, he never turned on his camera.

And for something like a connection, not turning on the camera seemed very disrespectful to the other person, so he hurriedly said, "Wait a moment. I've never turned it on before. Let me find where I put my camera."

After saying that, Hudson began rummaging around.

Fortunately, he didn't have the habit of losing things, so he quickly found the camera and connected it to the computer.

After a simple adjustment, Hudson turned on the camera.
