Chapter 2 - Shin's First Battle

Three days had passed since Shin's transmigration. During these three days, he had gained a thorough understanding of his situation from various items in his home.

Kagura Shin, 15 years old. He had just graduated from middle school and was enjoying a pleasant summer vacation when disaster struck.

Now, he was being brought by Gojo Satoru to stay temporarily in the dorms of Tokyo Jujutsu High.

As for all the items in his home and the house itself, Gojo Satoru had arranged for people to sell everything that could be sold. The money was all transferred to Shin, effectively severing his ties to his old life.

Lying in the dorms of Jujutsu High, Shin finally had some free time to begin carefully researching his Cursed Technique.

Over the past three days, he only knew that the items he unlocked could be created using Cursed Energy and could be stored. He only needed a thought to summon them into his hand when needed. He hadn't researched anything else yet.

"Alright, let me first try to see how to unlock items."

Based on his hypothesis from a few days ago, he estimated that killing Cursed Spirits would grant experience points to level up, and each level up would automatically unlock several items. However, what he wanted to test now was whether he could decompose and synthesize related items, like in Minecraft.

First, he took out a massive Dark Oak Log (one cubic meter). Then, with a thought, the log in his hand was decomposed into four planks, and the Dark Oak Planks in his panel were simultaneously unlocked.

"I can unlock them myself? Great! Now for the next test."

Soon, all items related to wood and Cobblestone were lit up.

Shin held a Stone Pickaxe in his hand, which looked like it was composed of countless pixels, and swung it at the glass window of the Jujutsu High dorm.

The expected sound of shattering glass didn't ring out. Instead, Shin felt a surge of resistance in his hand. Pixel-like patterns appeared from the center of the Jujutsu High glass window. A moment later, with a crisp snap, the glass turned into a miniature version of a Glass Pane, floating quietly on the ground.

After picking it up, the Glass Pane in his panel was unlocked.

"Can Glass Panes drop without Silk Touch? Never mind, I'll just assume they can."

Subsequently, Shin conducted several more tests and discovered that his Minecraft creations would disappear when they were more than 64 meters away from him. In other words, his maximum attack range was temporarily limited to 64 meters. Whether there would be a way to increase this in the future was still unknown.

Furthermore, when an item was held in his hand, its weight was zero, but when it was being used, its weight became quite heavy.

...

In the evening, Gojo Satoru arrived at Shin's dorm.

"Yo, Shin! Looks like you're in a good mood today. I'm going to a newly opened dessert shop nearby, want to come along?"

As Gojo Satoru spoke, he reached out his hand, intending to pick up a Stone Sword Shin had placed on the floor.

"Shin, is this your Cursed Technique? Just making these... blocky things?"

He grabbed the hilt, intending to lift the Stone Sword, but the weight transmitted to his hand made him raise an eyebrow. He let go inconspicuously and looked at Shin, who was currently using a Wooden Sword to hack at the Stone Sword.

"I've suddenly changed my mind. Shin, let's go do something more interesting than eating dessert."

Before Shin could answer, Gojo Satoru grabbed his arm and teleported to an abandoned factory. Fortunately, Shin reacted in time to put away both the Wooden and Stone Swords. Otherwise, there would likely be a hole in the floor.

"Gojo-sensei, we're not here to deal with a Cursed Spirit, are we?"

"Bingo. You're not scared, are you? It's fine though, I'll be watching from the side, nothing could possibly go wrong."

The two chatted as they moved into the factory interior, the residual traces of Cursed Energy becoming increasingly apparent. Suddenly, a claw lunged fiercely at them from the ceiling directly above.

Gojo Satoru jumped away, leaving the field to Shin. However, since Shin was just a rookie who had only recently learned about Cursed Energy and hadn't even learned the most basic body reinforcement, he couldn't dodge the strike. He had no choice but to take out a block of Cobblestone and smash it upward with force.

The nearly two-ton block of stone, carrying extreme speed, struck the Cursed Spirit's claw, instantly smashing it into a bloody mess.

Bang!

A Cursed Spirit covered in eyes with seven claws fell from the ceiling. The injured arm was quickly restored under the rapid replenishment of Cursed Energy.

Shin quickly took out a Stone Sword and adjusted his stance. Calling it adjusting his stance was a bit of an exaggeration as he was just standing firm and staring at the Cursed Spirit, since he didn't actually know any stances.

Swoosh!

The Cursed Spirit kicked off the ground and lunged at Shin with great speed.

Shin instinctively closed his eyes like a normal person, but quickly reacted, reopening them and rapidly placing four blocks of Cobblestone in front of him to form a Cobblestone Wall.

Bam!

The Cursed Spirit slammed into the Cobblestone Wall. The wall didn't budge an inch, but dense pixel-like patterns appeared on its surface. The Cursed Spirit followed up with another claw strike, and the Cobblestone Wall turned back into four Cobblestone drops, which Shin reclaimed.

Fighting a Cursed Spirit for the first time, Shin could only defend pathetically, or rather, roll clumsily to dodge the Cursed Spirit's attacks.

Meanwhile, Gojo Satoru was standing far away, watching the battle between the two sides.

"Shin! What are you afraid of? Fear of getting hurt? If you just keep dodging and defending like this, you'll be worn down sooner or later! Don't be afraid, you need that madness to trade injury for injury! I'm here, don't be afraid!"

Indeed, Shin was afraid—afraid of pain and injury like any normal person. He wanted to attack the Cursed Spirit without getting hurt himself because he hadn't adapted to the pain of injury yet. In other words, he was not yet a qualified Jujutsu Sorcerer.

Hearing Gojo Satoru's words, Shin grit his teeth, tightened his grip on the Stone Sword, and charged forward.

The moment the Cursed Spirit's claw touched the Stone Sword, it was severed by the sword, which weighed nearly four tons. At the same time, another claw carved several deep, bone-chilling gashes into Shin's thigh.

"Hiss! It hurts, but it doesn't seem as unbearable as I imagined.".

Saying that, Shin raised the Stone Sword and hacked fiercely at the Cursed Spirit's body. In his perception, he had carved a large chunk out of the Cursed Spirit with almost no effort. In the Cursed Spirit's perception, this human had hit it with a four-ton, sword-shaped serrated object, and the serrated edges had torn away a massive amount of Cursed Energy.

Thump... Thump...

Shin felt that his wound no longer hurt. Instead, he was incredibly excited, as if he had infinite strength.

But just then, Gojo Satoru teleported to his side and casually pressed the Cursed Spirit into a puddle.

"Alright, mission accomplished. You're bleeding quite a bit, let's head back to Jujutsu High. There's a very skilled doctor there."

As he spoke, he grabbed Shin's shoulder and teleported back to Jujutsu High.

Shin leveled up three times amidst a series of pleasant experience sounds, unlocking nine items.

Cherry Wood, Birch Wood, Apple, Bread, String, Wool, Pufferfish, Pink Axolotl, and a type of Tropical Fish.

Summary of Shin's Cursed Technique:

He can use Cursed Energy to create unlocked items and store them.

Items can be unlocked by using tools like pickaxes or axes to collect existing real-world objects.

For things that don't exist in reality, three random items are automatically unlocked with each level up.

Additionally, he can craft and unlock items at a Crafting Table. Once unlocked, they can be created with Cursed Energy at will, without going through other processes.
