Chapter 5 - Subterranean King

"Run! The heroes have all failed!"

"How could this happen? There were so many heroes here."

The crowd on the street fled in terror in all directions, while a monster unreservedly trampled a fainted hero underfoot.

"Heroes? In front of me, the Subterranean King, you are all nothing but ants! Surrender!"

The Subterranean King waved the four blood-red blades in his hands, laughing maniacally.

"Justice Crash!"

Boom!

A bicycle slammed into the Subterranean King's body, but it didn't cause any damage at all.

"Hm? Another hero?"

The Subterranean King looked at the fully-equipped youth before him with interest, not taking him seriously at all.

"Class C, Rank 1, Mumen Rider! Let me be the one to eliminate you!"

"Great, it's Mumen Rider!"

"We're saved!"

"But so many heroes have failed already. Can he do it alone?"

"Are the heroes that surface-dwellers talk about all trash like you?"

The Subterranean King didn't even have the desire to attack, but Mumen Rider had already rushed over.

"Justice Tackle!"

Mumen Rider hugged the Subterranean King's massive body tightly, but no matter how hard he tried, the other party didn't budge an inch.

Boom!

The Subterranean King easily punched Mumen Rider, sending his body flying dozens of meters away, blood flowing everywhere.

"As expected, the gap is still too large..."

"Run! Someone save us!"

The hope that had just ignited in the crowd was extinguished once again, but at this moment, Mumen Rider staggered to his feet and rushed toward the monster again.

"Justice Punch!"

Mumen Rider roared, using all his strength to throw a punch at the Subterranean King.

Bang!

Blood splattered everywhere, and Mumen Rider's broken body traced an arc in the air before crashing onto the ground in front of everyone.

"Mumen Rider!"

Everyone closed their eyes, unable to bear looking at Mumen Rider's miserable state, but at that moment, an extremely powerful sound resonated throughout the area.

Thump! Thump! Thump...

Mumen Rider's body was caught by a figure.

"Well fought."

King gently placed the unconscious Mumen Rider on the ground, then turned to look at the Subterranean King.

"King-san! It's him!"

"Great, the strongest man on Earth! We're saved!"

"With King-san here, a mere monster is not even worth mentioning!"

"Ahhh! King-san, I love you!"

Watching King walk over slowly, the crowd on the scene instantly boiled over, and no one had any intention of running anymore. In everyone's eyes, there was no monster that King couldn't handle. This strongest man on Earth had never known defeat.

"Oh? So you are the strongest on the surface? I am the Subterranean King, and I will be the master of Earth. From today on, all humans will submit to..."

Boom!

Before the Subterranean King could finish his sentence, a terrifying gust of wind from a punch swept past, and then King took out his phone to call an ambulance.

Thud!

The Subterranean King's upper body was instantly shattered and vanished, leaving only his lower body standing there alone.

"This..."

Everyone present stood frozen in place, and only after a moment did they erupt into crazy cheers.

"I am so lucky! It is said that no one has ever seen King-san attack, I can't believe I got to see it today! Mom, I've made it!"

"As expected of the strongest man on Earth, he is so strong!"

"My god, a monster that so many heroes couldn't handle, and King-san solved it in just one punch! He's truly amazing!"

"King-san, please shake my hand!"

"How bold! Can't you see King-san is busy? Stay back!"

The surrounding crowd was ecstatic, partly due to the joy of surviving, and partly due to their worship of King's immense power.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for killing a Demon-level monster. Obtained 500 Talent Points and one Talent Trial Card.]

'Hm? Talent Trial Card?'

King looked stunned for a moment, but immediately returned to normal. Having just dealt with a Demon-level monster, he had used up all his accumulated Fighting Spirit. He was now at the end of his rope, and his legs were trembling slightly.

"Could you please move aside? I have things to do."

Seeing that he was surrounded tightly, King had no choice but to maintain his aloof expression, looking calmly at the crowd.

"Quick! Move aside!"

"Didn't you hear? King-san has things to do, clear the way!"

"Disperse! Disperse!"

King forced himself through the crowd with his weak body and didn't sit down until he returned home.

"Did King-san solve the monster problem again?"

At the Hero Association headquarters, Jess breathed a sigh of relief. This disaster had appeared too suddenly, and the number and level of monsters exceeded expectations.

Such emergencies usually lead to serious casualties, and the dispatched A-Class heroes had all been defeated. However, fortunately, King intervened and defeated the most powerful Demon-level monster.

"Dark Mask?"

Jess looked at the on-site report with some confusion.

Because there were many witnesses, the process of King or rather Dark Mask killing the Subterraneans had also been filmed.

"Yes, many citizens claimed to have seen a masked man kill the monsters and save them. However, they all thought it was a hero sent by the association, but this person is not among the heroes registered with the association." Maria, the customer service representative, said.

There are many powerful individuals who do not seek fame or fortune and live in seclusion, their strength is sometimes even greater than that of heroes.

"It seems to be someone who has not participated in the association's grading. Record it in the files to prevent future emergencies."

Jess did not dwell on it too much. Powerful humans sometimes cause trouble, but Dark Mask is in the same city as King, so he probably wouldn't dare to act rashly.
