A church downtown had fallen silent.
Thirty missing.
One survivor repeating:
"They were singing… then their voices changed."
Elijah joined Naomi and Daniel at the perimeter.
The air felt wrong.
Heavy.
Naomi turned to him.
"Don't speak unless you're certain."
Inside—
Bodies knelt frozen in prayer.
Black mist hovered above them.
And at the altar stood a woman smiling too widely.
Her jaw unhinged slightly.
"Ah," she said. "The boy who bends skies."
Elijah's blood ran cold.
"You know me?"
"We know your father."
The mist lunged.
Naomi shouted:
"Dominion!"
Golden light burst outward.
Elijah hesitated.
Fear.
Anger.
Guilt.
The mist pierced Naomi's shield.
She cried out.
Elijah stepped forward.
No doubt.
No hesitation.
"Be still."
The words rolled like thunder.
The entire church froze.
Even the demon.
The Demo screamed—
And shattered into ash.
The host body collapsed.
Dead.
Elijah stared at his shaking hands.
He saved no one.
