After leaving Niccoline Chapel, Dante and Missio prepared to head out of the papal palace. Right then, Francis called out to Dante.
"What about your request, Dante?" he asked.
Dante halted. Missio stopped with him too. Both spun around.
"What?" Dante blurted.
"You had a third reason to meet me. A request, you said." Francis reminded the King.
Dante paused for a moment. He remembered he had a request for the Pope. The corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl. He neared Francis. The guards who surrounded him let Dante pass. He grabbed the pope's hand and gripped it firmly. He met Francis's gaze and drew a sharp breath.
"Father, Can I ask you to officiate my wedding?"
Francis paused. The guards watched in silence. Missio smiled, tucking his hands into his pockets.
'That's what he meant by choosing the priest…'
Francis's lips couldn't help but curl into a smile. He placed his other hand on Dante's and locked eyes with him.
"Of course, my child."
Dante smirked. He pressed Francis's hand against his forehead. He let the pope's hand go. Francis crossed his arms behind his back.
"When is your wedding?"
"It will be in December." Dante replied. "I'll inform you of the date when it has been decided, your holiness."
"Live a happy life, boy." Francis patted him on the shoulder.
"I've tried." Dante nodded.
He backed away from Francis. He spun around and headed towards the exit. Missio trailed behind him, following him with his eyes. Before they passed the bronze door, Dante stopped him.
"You can't go looking like that."
"Huh?" Missio blurted.
Dante went behind his little brother. He pulled off his overcoat which had been torn open by his wings. He took off his own jacket and put it on Missio. He zipped the jacket up, hanging the overcoat on his wrist.
"That's better." Dante said.
Missio smiled, shifting in his brother's jacket. "Thanks."
"Your welcome."
Dante spun around, exiting the Apostolic palace. Missio followed him, descending the stairs. They stepped onto St. Peter's square once more. After a few minutes, they exited the holy site. Stepping onto the pavement of the city once more, Dante heaved a sigh of relief.
"That was stressful… but hey, at least Isabella's going to be happy." He shrugged.
"I'm pretty sure you're going to give her a heart attack." Missio chuckled. "Having the literal Pope officiating your wedding is no joke."
"Only the best for my future wife…" Dante chuckled as well. "Maybe you'll understand this feeling one day."
"What do you mean by that?" Missio frowned slightly.
"Missio, you're 27 – Single and traveling the world with your beloved brother. I think you need to get a girlfriend quickly" Dante answered.
"It's not my fault that no girl has caught my eye yet."
"It's only a matter of time… but you have no game at all…"
"The hell you mean? I have so much game!"
"Dude, one of your friends is already engaged and at least Krishna has some actual charisma. Catch up."
Missio grumbled – unable to refute his brother's statement. The two continued through the city. Eventually, they settled at a place for lunch. After telling the waiter their order, they sat in silence for a few moments. Missio leaned forward, asking his brother a question.
"So… what powers do I do get now?"
"Hm?" Dante raised his brows.
"Y'know. Scarlet eyes gave me X-ray vision. What do blue eyes give me?"
"Oh!" Dante straightened. "Enhanced vision."
"Enhanced vision…? How will that work?"
"Try looking at the sun while focusing with your eyes."
Missio furrowed his brows. He followed his brother's directions. He elevated his head, staring into the sun. He felt no pain as his eyes had grown strong enough to resist its rays. He focused on his eyes, trying to activate his enhanced vision. Suddenly, his vision zoomed in greatly. His sight passed the sky. It went farther, passing the Moon, Venus and Mercury. Eventually, the sun seemed as though it was only a step away.
It's blazing glory made Missio panic. He quickly deactivated his enhanced vision. He blinked – he was back in the café. He turned his head, looking at his brother.
"What the fuck?" he blurted.
"Rad, ain't it?" Dante chuckled, crossing arms.
"That was scary." Missio clutched his chest. "I passed the sky, the fucking moon, Venus for sanity's sake and Mercury! What the hell?"
"That's just the power of an Ascendant." Dante pulled out his phone. "Now, shut up. I have to make a call."
Missio leaned back, heaving a sigh. He calmed himself down while his big brother dialed someone. Dante pressed the phone against his ear. A ding went off. After a few seconds, the call went through. A certain person's voice came from the other side.
"Yo! Yo! Yo! What's up~" The voice exclaimed.
"Bellum, how you've been man?" Dante smiled.
"Better than ever! Fully recovered from the hospital and due for a return to work." Bellum replied excitedly.
"That's good. Have the others recovered?"
"Yeah. We're gonna get discharged after another checkup."
"Cool – Cool… by the way… I wanted to ask you something."
"Go on."
"Can you swing by Cinque Terre next month?" Dante said, watching the waiter bring their food.
"Why? Some sort of special occasion?" Bellum inquired.
"Nah, I just need you to train Missio. Teach him Sempiterne Swordsmanship."
"Oh? You think I'm the best man for the job, aren't I? Of course, I, Bellum Flamma, Commander of the Apex forces and a Saint who had mastered Sempiterne swordsmanship will be best suited to train your brother."
"So, can you make it?"
"Of course. I'll bring along Victor as well." Bellum stated.
"That's sounds like a plan to me. I'll catch you later. Gotta eat lunch." Dante pulled the phone away from his ear, hovering his finger above the red button that would end the call.
"Bye – Bye~" Bellum teased, cutting the call.
