Chapter 56 - When You Forgot Me , I Fell Again

Season 2 — Chapter 6: The Line He Crossed

The atmosphere inside the mansion changed.

Everything felt tense.

Heavy.

Marcus had made his move.

And this time—

It wasn't just intimidation.

It was war.

Adrian stood in his study, reviewing the documents Lucas had brought.

His eyes moved coldly across the pages.

"Thirty-two percent…"

His jaw tightened.

Marcus now owned a significant share of the company.

Enough to interfere.

Enough to threaten.

Lucas stood in front of him.

"He's been buying quietly for months."

Adrian looked up.

"And no one noticed?"

Lucas lowered his head slightly.

"He used multiple shell companies."

Adrian's expression darkened.

"Smart."

Lucas added—

"And dangerous."

Adrian closed the file slowly.

"This isn't just business anymore."

Lucas nodded.

"I know."

Adrian's eyes turned sharp.

"He's targeting Lina."

Lucas stayed silent.

Because they both knew—

That was the real problem.

Meanwhile…

Lina sat quietly in the living room.

She could feel the tension.

Something was wrong.

Adrian hadn't come out of his study for hours.

She stood up slowly.

Walked toward the study door.

Then knocked.

"Come in."

She opened the door.

Adrian looked up.

His expression softened slightly.

"Lina."

She stepped inside.

"What's going on?"

He hesitated.

Then answered honestly—

"Marcus bought a large share of my company."

Her eyes widened.

"What?"

He nodded.

"He's making his move."

Lina felt uneasy.

"What are you going to do?"

Adrian leaned back.

"Fight back."

Her heart tightened.

"Is it dangerous?"

He looked at her.

"Yes."

She stayed silent for a moment.

Then walked closer.

"Then let me help."

Adrian frowned.

"No."

"Why not?"

His voice turned firm.

"Because it's dangerous."

She crossed her arms.

"I'm already involved."

He stayed silent.

She was right.

She was already part of this.

Adrian sighed.

"I'll think about it."

She nodded.

"Okay."

Later that evening…

Lina decided to go to her room.

But as she walked down the hallway—

She heard voices.

From Adrian's study.

She paused.

Lucas was speaking.

"Boss… there's something else."

Adrian's voice sounded serious.

"What?"

Lucas hesitated.

"We found out… Marcus knows about the baby."

Lina froze.

Her heart stopped.

The baby…

Her breath became uneven.

Inside the room—

Adrian's expression changed instantly.

"What?"

Lucas nodded.

"He accessed hospital records."

Adrian's eyes turned dangerous.

"Why would he need that?"

Lucas answered quietly—

"He might use it against you."

Silence filled the room.

Adrian clenched his fists.

"That bastard…"

Outside—

Lina's hands trembled.

Marcus knew.

About her baby.

Her chest tightened painfully.

She quickly stepped back.

And walked away.

That night…

Lina sat alone in her room.

Her mind was a mess.

Marcus knew.

He knew about her loss.

Tears filled her eyes again.

"Why…"

She whispered.

Why was everything coming back now?

Why was the pain getting worse?

A knock sounded.

"Come in."

Adrian entered quietly.

He saw her expression.

Her red eyes.

His heart tightened.

"You heard…"

She nodded slowly.

"He knows…"

Her voice trembled.

Adrian walked closer.

"I won't let him use it."

She looked at him.

"How?"

His voice turned cold.

"I'll stop him."

She shook her head.

"This is getting worse, Adrian."

He stayed silent.

She stood up.

"What if he uses it against us publicly?"

Adrian's jaw tightened.

"I won't let that happen."

She looked at him.

"You can't control everything."

Silence.

Then—

She said softly—

"I'm scared."

Adrian's expression softened immediately.

He stepped closer.

Gently held her shoulders.

"Look at me."

She did.

"I'm here."

Her eyes trembled.

"He won't hurt you."

Her voice broke slightly.

"He already is…"

His heart tightened.

Without thinking—

He pulled her into his arms.

She froze for a second.

Then—

She didn't pull away.

Instead—

She held onto him.

Tightly.

As if she needed him.

"I can't lose anything else…"

She whispered.

His grip tightened.

"You won't."

Her face pressed against his chest.

His heartbeat calmed her.

For a moment—

Everything felt okay.

But outside…

Marcus stood in front of a large window.

Looking at the city lights.

His assistant handed him a file.

"Everything is ready."

Marcus opened it.

Inside—

Photos.

Hospital records.

And Lina's past.

His lips curved into a cold smile.

"Now…"

He whispered.

"Let's see how long they can hold on."

Because this time—

He had crossed the line.

And there was no turning back.
