It was 2:17 a. m.
Aanaya lay in bed, staring at the ceilling in the dark.
Her phone screen still glowed beside her, showing the last message:
"You will never be enough. "
The strange part?
She had sent that message to herself.
It wasn't exactly normal.
Aanya had a hidden app on her phone_ "Echo me".
It claimed you could talk to your past or future self.
At first, it felt like a silly experiment...
Until the replies started coming in.
Replies she never typed.
The next morning, she decided to change things.
She opened the app and typed:
" I am strong. I will change my life. "
The reply came instantly:
Too late." You have already lost ".
Her fingers froze.
This wasn't just self-doubt anymore.
This felt.. real.
Aanya was a odinary girl.
Not the topper, not the favorite, not the perfect one.
People overlooked her so often that, eventually...
She started overlooking herself.
That, night she tried to delete the app.
But the moment she pressed "uninstall",
