Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Ascending to the Top, Champion!!! (Kanto Arc Ends!)

The second half began.

Nurse Joy sent out her fourth Pokémon. "Show the healing light of nature, my beautiful Bellossom!"

The Grass-type Bellossom appeared, moving with graceful elegance. But Ash knew that the more beautiful something looked, the more dangerous it could be.

"Muk, return." Ash decisively withdrew it. "Go, Wartortle!"

Wartortle entered the field. Although it was at a disadvantage against Grass-types, its Ice-type moves would be super effective against Bellossom.

"Bellossom, use Stun Spore!" Joy attempted to take control early.

"Wartortle, withdraw into your shell, then use Hydro Pump!" Ash chose to endure and counterattack.

Wartortle quickly retreated into its shell, reducing the effect of the Stun Spore, then unleashed a powerful stream of water.

"Bellossom, dodge!"

Bellossom leapt gracefully, but the wide range of Hydro Pump still grazed it. The damage wasn't overwhelming, but it was significant.

"Bellossom, use Synthesis!"

Under the sunlight, Bellossom's stamina began to recover.

"We can't give it the chance! Wartortle, use Water Pulse continuously!"

"Bellossom, use Magical Leaf!"

Leaves infused with magical energy homed in on Wartortle, dealing damage.

The two sides exchanged blows. While Wartortle's Water-type moves held a type advantage, Bellossom's recovery and guaranteed-hit attacks made it troublesome.

"Wartortle, find the opening and use Ice Beam!"

Wartortle seized the moment just after Bellossom used Synthesis. A beam of icy blue energy shot forward, striking directly. It was super effective.

Bellossom was heavily injured by the Ice-type attack, its movements slowing.

"Finish it with Hydro Pump!"

A powerful stream of water followed, and Bellossom finally collapsed.

"Bellossom is unable to battle! Wartortle wins!"

Nurse Joy was left with only two Pokémon.

Looking at Ash, she finally revealed her strongest trump card. "Respond to my call, my partner, Blissey!"

Behind its harmless appearance lay a terrifying defense that had crushed countless offensive strategies.

Ash felt immense pressure. "Wartortle, strike first with Hydro Pump!"

A powerful stream of water blasted toward Blissey.

"Blissey, Light Screen!"

A transparent barrier instantly formed, weakening special attacks. The water struck Blissey, but it only swayed slightly, seemingly unharmed.

"Blissey, use Soft-Boiled!"

Blissey produced an egg, instantly restoring a large portion of its stamina.

"What?!" Ash's heart sank. The worst-case scenario had arrived.

"Wartortle, keep using Water Pulse, don't give it any breathing room!"

"Blissey, Reflect!"

Another barrier appeared, further reducing damage. Blissey endured the continuous Water Pulse attacks. Although its stamina was decreasing, it was doing so very slowly.

"Now, Blissey, use Thunder Wave!"

A faint spark flashed, and Wartortle's body stiffened as it was paralyzed, its speed dropping sharply.

Because of the paralysis, Wartortle's movements became rigid, and it failed to release Hydro Pump in time.

"Blissey, use Psychic!"

A blue glow flashed in Blissey's eyes as invisible psychic force struck Wartortle, dealing significant damage.

"Wartortle, hold on, use Hydro Pump again!"

This time, the attack was successfully fired, but Blissey immediately used Soft-Boiled again, restoring itself to near full health.

Looking at his exhausted, paralyzed Wartortle and the nearly fully recovered Blissey protected by dual screens, Ash knew he could not drag this out any longer.

"Come back, Wartortle." He recalled it, gripping the most important Poké Ball in his hand.

The entire stadium held its breath, knowing the decisive moment had arrived.

Ash's gaze met Pikachu's on his shoulder. Then he threw the Poké Ball high into the air.

"I choose you, Charizard!"

With a thunderous roar, Charizard descended onto the battlefield, its blazing tail flame burning fiercely, its heat seeming to ignite the very air.

On one side stood the embodiment of fire and power. On the other stood the ultimate symbol of life and protection.

This was the ultimate clash between the sharpest spear and the strongest shield.

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Ash broke the stalemate first. He needed to test the damage output against the dual screens.

A blazing stream of fire surged toward Blissey, but weakened by Light Screen, it only made Blissey frown slightly as it endured the attack.

"Blissey, use Soft-Boiled!" Nurse Joy did not hesitate, immediately restoring its health back to full.

"We can't let it keep healing! Charizard, close in and use Dragon Claw!"

Charizard roared, its claws glowing green as it tore through the air toward Blissey. Even with Reflect reducing the damage, the physical attack still dealt considerable impact.

"Blissey, now, use Thunder Wave!"

At such close range, the Thunder Wave hit perfectly. Charizard's body stiffened as it was paralyzed, its speed dropping sharply.

"This is bad!" Ash's heart tightened. Speed was crucial for Charizard.

"Good opportunity! Blissey, use Psychic repeatedly!" Nurse Joy pressed the attack calmly.

Invisible psychic force slammed down like heavy hammers, striking Charizard again and again.

Charizard let out a pained roar, its massive body trembling under the psychic pressure, yet the fire in its eyes burned even fiercer.

"Charizard!" Ash clenched his fists, his heart racing as he felt Charizard's pain and unyielding spirit. He knew that tricks would not work here. Only Charizard's own strength and their bond could break through.

"Hold on! I believe in you! Remember our trials in the flames of the Cinnabar Gym, and every moment we trained under Bruno at Mount Hideaway! This level of paralysis can't stop us! Use your anger, your will, break through it!"

Ash's voice carried a strange power, forged through their shared experiences and trust, reaching deep into Charizard's heart.

Charizard suddenly unleashed a roar that shook the entire stadium.

That roar no longer held just pain, but overwhelming battle spirit and an unyielding desire for victory.

The flames around it shifted in color, from orange-red to a blazing Whitish-Blue.

Blaze had fully activated at the brink of its limits.

At the same time, its paralyzed body, driven by Ash's call and its own indomitable will, forcibly broke free from the invisible restraints.

"Now, Charizard, use Wing Attack and close the distance!" Ash seized the moment.

Charizard's massive wings beat powerfully as it charged forward like an arrow, unstoppable. The effects of paralysis seemed to be temporarily suppressed by its sheer will.

"That's… Blaze has activated!" Brock exclaimed from the stands.

"No, it's more than just Blaze…" Misty stared at the unseen connection between Ash and Charizard. "It's their bond overcoming the paralysis!"

Even Nurse Joy's expression turned serious. "To suppress paralysis through sheer will… but Blissey still has plenty of stamina! Blissey, one final push, full power Psychic!"

"We won't lose either! Charizard, show it our full power… Blast Burn!"

Ash gave the ultimate command.

This was the ultimate Fire-type move he and Charizard had trained relentlessly since the Cinnabar Gym.

Charizard took a deep breath. The air around it warped from the intense heat. The blue-white flames from its tail spread across its entire body, and what burst from its mouth was no longer ordinary fire, but a torrent of destructive energy, as if it would incinerate the entire battlefield.

Blissey's Psychic collided head-on with the devastating inferno.

Boom!!!

A deafening explosion echoed across the stadium. Blinding light and shockwaves forced everyone to shut their eyes. Smoke and dust engulfed the battlefield.

When the smoke finally cleared, Blissey was seen kneeling on one knee, its body covered in burn marks, panting heavily. It had clearly taken massive damage from the clash.

Charizard, though also battered, still stood tall, its sharp gaze locked onto its opponent.

"It held on…" Nurse Joy exhaled, but immediately gave another command. "Blissey, quickly, one last Soft-Boiled!"

Blissey struggled to produce an egg.

"Now!!" A sharp glint flashed in Ash's eyes. This was the opportunity he had been waiting for!

The overwhelming power of Blast Burn forced Blissey to endure it head-on, disrupting its rhythm and creating the perfect opportunity for close combat.

"Charizard, go! Seismic Toss!"

With its remaining strength, Charizard turned into a blazing meteor and rushed straight toward Blissey. This time, Blissey's Protect failed to hold!

Charizard's powerful arms firmly grabbed Blissey before soaring into the sky.

Spinning rapidly in midair, it formed a perfect arc, channeling all its kinetic energy, potential energy, and the blazing bond it shared with Ash into this final throw.

"Go!!!"

With a united roar from both Ash and Charizard, Blissey was slammed violently into the ground.

BOOM!!!

Another thunderous explosion rang out, leaving a deep crater in the battlefield.

Blissey lay at the bottom of the crater, its eyes spiraling, completely unable to battle.

The entire stadium fell into silence for a moment, before erupting into unprecedented thunderous applause and cheers.

The referee announced:

"Blissey is unable to battle! Charizard wins!

Nurse Joy stood silently for a moment, looking at Blissey lying in the crater, her expression calm yet slightly softened.

She adjusted her glasses, then let out a quiet breath.

"…There's no need to continue."

She slowly lowered the Poké Ball in her hand.

"Even if I send out my last Pokémon, the result won't change."

Her gaze lifted toward Ash, carrying both acknowledgment and respect.

"Your Charizard still has the strength to fight, and more importantly… your bond has already surpassed what I can overcome."

She gave a small, graceful nod.

"I concede."

The referee froze for a brief moment, then immediately raised the flag high, his voice echoing across the entire stadium.

"Since Nurse Joy concedes, the victory goes to Ash from Pallet Town! Therefore, the champion of this Indigo League is Ash from Pallet Town!!!"

We… won?

Ash stood frozen in place. The deafening cheers roared in his ears, yet for a moment, it felt like the world had gone silent.

He looked at Charizard, exhausted yet proudly standing tall. He looked at Blissey, defeated in the crater. He looked at the referee's raised flag. His mind went completely blank.

He… had won the Indigo League?

The regret from his past life, watching from in front of a screen, stopping at the Top 16… those memories flashed through his mind like a slideshow, finally settling on the vivid reality before him.

This… wasn't a dream?

"Pikaaa—Pikachu!!!"

Pikachu was the first to jump up on his shoulder, excitedly pressing against his cheek. The warm touch and familiar cry pulled him back to reality.

"Ash! You were amazing!!" Misty and Brock rushed down from the stands. Tears shimmered in Misty's eyes as she patted his shoulder, while Brock looked at him with pride and relief.

"It's real… Misty, Brock… we… we really won!" Ash's voice trembled before being swallowed by overwhelming joy. He lifted Pikachu and pulled his two longtime companions into a tight embrace. "We won! We're champions!!!"

He had fulfilled the first and most important regret.

He had proven that through bonds and strategy, he could stand at the very peak of the Kanto region.

Nurse Joy recalled Blissey and walked over, her expression filled with relief and admiration.

"Congratulations, Ash. The bond between you and Charizard, along with your decisive tactics at the final moment, completely defeated me. You truly deserve this championship."

"Thank you, Miss Joy. That was an incredible battle," Ash replied sincerely.

Under the gaze of countless spectators, Chairman Charles Goodshow personally stepped forward, holding the trophy that symbolized the League Champion. The elderly man's face was filled with a warm, satisfied smile.

"Young hero, Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town! With your outstanding command, the deep bonds you share with your Pokémon, and your unyielding fighting spirit, you have overcome every challenge and earned the respect and recognition of all! Now, this Indigo League Championship trophy belongs to you!"

Ash took a deep breath and accepted the heavy, metallic trophy with trembling hands.

Its cold surface felt like burning fire, carrying both supreme honor and immense responsibility.

He raised the trophy high, facing the entire audience, and with all his strength, shouted the words he had long held in his heart:

"I've won the Indigo League Championship!!!"

"Pika-Pikachu!!!" Pikachu jumped up, cheering with both paws raised.

His voice echoed through the microphone, spreading across the entire stadium and even beyond the Indigo Plateau. In Pallet Town, Delia and Professor Oak watched through tears in front of the television. In the backyard of Oak's Laboratory, Ash's Pokémon cried out in joy. Across the world, everyone who had followed the tournament remembered this young champion from Pallet Town.

The moment he shouted those words, the system's notifications rang in his mind like heavenly music.

A warmth far greater than before, deeper and more profound, as if originating from the very essence of life itself, surged from within Ash and spread throughout his entire body.

His senses became sharper, and his connection with Pikachu on his shoulder, Charizard on the field, and every partner inside their Poké Balls grew clearer and stronger.

He could even vaguely "see" invisible threads woven from emotion and bonds, linking him and all his Pokémon together.

So this… is the power of the Origin Heart Form? It wasn't just an increase in strength, but an elevation of connection itself.

Holding the trophy, feeling both the hard-earned glory and his newly awakened power, he looked at his cheering companions and the vast sky before him.

Winning the Indigo League Championship was a brilliant milestone in his journey, but it was far from the end.

He knew that more adventures, stronger opponents, and deeper bonds awaited him in the future.

The Kanto arc had officially come to an end.

Next would be the beginning of the Orange Islands arc.

A grand chapter delivered for everyone to enjoy!

(T/N: Author has Ended battle after Blissey was defeated, no explanation, it was just 5v5, so I added some dialogues for Nurse Joy, hope it wont ruin the story, xd)
