KEIFER'S POV
As soon as I opened my eyes, a beam of sunlight slapped me right across the face. It took me a few seconds to adjust to the brightness.
When my vision finally cleared, my eyes slowly drifted toward the person completely wrapped around me like a little koala.
Jay Jay.
My Jay Jay.
My girlfriend.
She had both her arms wrapped around my waist, her face buried against my chest, while one of her legs rested over mine. I couldn't help but smile.
She was beautiful. Even in her sleep, she looked breathtaking. Like a goddess. I don't know how she sees herself, but to me...She's the most beautiful girl on Earth.
And I couldn't stop admiring her. I knew I should get up. Judging by the sunlight pouring through the curtains, it was already afternoon. I had work to finish and meetings to attend.
But honestly...Screw that. Right now, the only thing that mattered was the girl sleeping peacefully in my arms. My company could wait.
As I continued admiring her, my gaze slowly dropped to her lips.
Soft.
Pink.
Perfect.
And suddenly, all I wanted to do was kiss them. I want to claim those lips at mine. Suck them, Bite them. Slide my tongue in her mouth and taste her.
Fuck.
She's become my biggest obsession.
I leaned in slightly, already imagining what her lips would feel like against mine. But just as I was about to close the distance, I noticed her beginning to wake up. I quickly pulled back and shut my eyes, pretending to be asleep.
It's not like I was scared of getting caught. I just wanted to tease her a little.
JAY'S POV
I slowly opened my eyes and was immediately greeted by a broad, warm chest beneath my face. As I pulled back slightly, my eyes landed on him.
Keifer.
My Keifer.
My boyfriend.
The memories from last night came rushing back.
The surprise party.
Keifer.
The proposal.
Falling asleep together.
Heat instantly rushed to my cheeks.
He was still asleep. And even then, he looked ridiculously handsome. Like he had just walked out of the cover of a magazine. Then my eyes drifted to his lips.
God...They looked perfect.
And all I wanted to do was kiss them.
Okay...Maybe I sounded like a complete pervert. But honestly...I didn't care.I just wanted to kiss him.
Without thinking twice, I gently cupped his face with one hand and pressed a soft kiss against his lips. I had only planned to give him a quick peck.
But the moment I tried to pull away...A hand slid behind my neck and pulled me right back against him.
Damn.
He's awake.
But honestly? I didn't care anymore.
The only thing that mattered right now was his lips on mine.
He didn't simply kiss me.
He fucks my mouth with his tongue. Traps my lips between his teeth and bites. Explores every inch of my mouth as he devours me. He completely stole my breath away, deepening the kiss as if he never wanted it to end.
Exactly what I wanted. Because he knew...Just how much I loved kissing him.
After several long moments, we finally pulled apart. Not because we wanted to...But because oxygen was kind of important.
The moment our eyes met, I was certain my face had turned the color of a strawberry. Meanwhile...He was wearing that annoyingly handsome smirk.
"So... did you enjoy our morning kiss?" he asked.
"So, you were awake the whole time and just waiting for me to make the first move?"
"Maybe."
"You're impossible."
He smiled before gently brushing a strand of hair away from my face.
"I'm yours, baby."
I smiled back.
"Yes... you are mine."
Even I didn't know where that sudden confidence came from. But now that I knew, without a doubt, that I loved him...And that we were officially together...I didn't mind claiming him.
His smile grew even wider.
"You know... I love it when you claim me without hesitation. I love hearing you call me yours."
"Really?"
"Really."
We both laughed. After lying there for a little while longer, I finally decided it was time to get out of bed. Because if I left it up to him...We'd probably stay here forever.
"Come on, Keifer. Get up. We need to freshen up. It's already late."
He tightened his arms around my waist instead.
"Why? It's the weekend. We can be lazy today."
I laughed.
"Not today. I still have to finish packing... and I'm starving."
He frowned.
"Packing? Where are you going?"
I blinked. Right...I hadn't told him yet.
"Oh... yeah. I forgot to tell you. Kuya Cris and Ate Maya had gone on a two-week business trip. So until they come back, I'll be staying at the Fernandez house."
His expression instantly fell.
"Why there? You can stay here... with me."
I smiled softly.
"No, Kief. I can't."
He pouted like a little kid.
"Why not? You're my girlfriend now. We can live together. Please, Jay... We'll have fun."
I gently held his hand.
"It's not that I don't want to stay here. It's just... Kuya Angelo, Tita, and Aries have been asking me for almost a month to stay with them. I kept refusing because Jeana was there. But now that Kuya Cris and Ate Maya are leaving, I can't keep saying no. I already promised them."
He stayed quiet for a few seconds before giving me a small smile.
"It's okay... I understand."
Silence filled the room. Then, after a moment, he spoke again. His voice was quieter this time. More hesitant.
"Jay...What's the deal with your mother?"
He quickly continued before I could answer.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I was just wondering... because you seem to really dislike her."
I stayed silent for a moment. He deserved to know. There wasn't any reason to hide it anymore. I took a slow breath.
"Because she was never there for me, Keifer. Never."
I swallowed hard.
"When I was little...her husbands used to hurt me. They abused me... and she never paid attention. She never listened whenever I begged for help."
My fingers tightened around the blanket.
"There was a time when everything became blurry. I don't remember much anymore. I only remember waking up in a hospital... looking for her...but she wasn't there. Not long after that... she left me with Lola."
I looked down.
"Every birthday... every Christmas... every Thanksgiving..." I laughed quietly, though it hurt. "I kept waiting for her. But she never came."
A tear slipped down my cheek.
"Because of her... I never got the chance to know my own father. I never got to experience a father's love...or even a mother's."
I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.
"So yeah...I hate her. She doesn't deserve to be called my mother."
I hadn't even realized I was crying until Keifer gently wiped away my tears. Without saying another word, he pulled me into his arms. I buried my face against his neck.
His embrace felt warm.
Safe.
Comforting.
He gently rubbed my back.
"Don't waste your tears on someone who doesn't deserve them, Jay Jay."
His voice was calm. Steady.
"She's not worth even one of your tears."
I nodded against his shoulder. Still unwilling to let go. He held me a little tighter.
"I'm here."
A kiss landed softly on top of my head.
"Always. Whenever you want to talk... whenever something hurts... come to me, okay?"
I finally looked up at him. His eyes were filled with nothing but genuine concern.
"Okay."
He smiled.
"And... thank you for telling me. It means a lot to me."
I smiled back.
"You never have to thank me. You can ask me anything."
One of his eyebrows lifted.
"Anything?"
I nodded confidently.
"Yes. Anything."
A mischievous grin slowly spread across his face.
"Then tell me...What would my beautiful girlfriend like to eat for breakfast?"
I couldn't help but laugh.
"Pancakes."
He smiled proudly.
"As my wifey wishes."
Rolling my eyes with a smile, I climbed out of bed. A few minutes later, we finally headed off to get ready for the day together.
