Chapter 4 - Donations

Everybody who was watching from their computer or phone screens was now staring with wide eyes and full attention.

There were people eating instant ramen who had completely stopped moving, chopsticks frozen in mid-air, noodles hanging from their mouths and slowly drying as they forgot to chew.

There were office workers sitting in front of their monitors, fingers hovering above keyboards, work completely abandoned.

There were students doing homework who had stopped writing, pens resting quietly on notebooks as their eyes stayed glued to the screen.

Some people were lying on their beds. Some were sitting in internet cafés. Some were watching during break time.

All of them had stopped whatever they were doing.

They were watching.

Watching what was happening on James' stream right now.

In this modern era, their first instinct was obvious.

This had to be AI-generated. That was the most logical explanation.

With the current level of artificial intelligence and CGI technology, hyper-realistic videos were no longer impossible. Entire environments, creatures, and movements could be generated by advanced AI tools.

At first, many viewers believed this was just another extremely well-made AI video project.

But the longer they watched, the more something felt… wrong.

Or rather, too real.

The movement of the grass reacting to wind was not repetitive like AI loops. The shadows shifted naturally with the sun's angle.

The smoke from the burning field moved unpredictably with environmental airflow.

The T-Rex's muscle movements under its skin were detailed and organic, not stiff or overly smooth like AI animation.

James' breathing was uneven and messy. His voice cracked slightly at random moments, and sweat rolled down his skin in irregular patterns.

Even the camera movement was imperfect, slightly shaking as it floated and adjusted focus in real time.

There was no artificial blur, rendering glitches, or unnatural lighting.

Everything reacted naturally to everything else.

The fire spread realistically.

The sound delay between explosions and echoes matched environmental distance.

The dinosaurs moved like real animals, not scripted models.

It didn't look generated. It looked… alive.

Of course, not everyone believed it. Some viewers still insisted it was AI.

Maybe James was part of a huge production project. Maybe this was a high-budget cinematic livestream. Maybe he was using advanced real-time CGI and motion capture.

Maybe this was just extremely well-made content.

But regardless of what they believed, none of them could look away.

Because what they were seeing right now was simply too cool.

A pack of raptors that could spit fire was hunting two large horned dinosaurs.

Some viewers quickly recognized them as triceratops.

Even though, in real Earth history, raptors and triceratops should not exist in the same region or time period, nobody cared about that detail.

Because the bigger problem was obvious.

A streamer that suddenly transported into another world, raptors that could spit fire.

Those completely broke logic.

James continued watching from behind the bushes. His mind was still dazed from what he was seeing.

Fire-spitting dinosaurs with real hunting behavior.

For a few seconds, he forgot that he was streaming.

Then he suddenly snapped back to his senses.

He had to talk. He had to keep interacting to keep the stream alive.

"Chat," James whispered while keeping his voice low, "as you can see… there are small dinosaurs that spit fire, like dragons. They are hunting two bigger ones."

His eyes remained fixed on the battlefield.

"I think those two big ones don't have any chance," he continued quietly. "Those who are dinosaur otaku… can you tell me what type of dinosaurs those are?"

The chat immediately responded:

The smaller ones are called Raptors. But I'm not sure raptors can spit fire. And they are not red. The big two look like Triceratops. They shouldn't be in the same region though.

At this point it's useless to use our brain to analyze this situation!

More viewers agreed.

Yeah, logic is already broken. We should stop using Earth science now.

This is clearly another world. No point applying real history here.

"Hm." James nodded slowly.

"So these dinosaurs are called raptors and triceratops," he whispered. "It doesn't matter if they are from different regions."

He kept watching the battle.

"We can't use logic anymore, chat," he continued calmly. "This is another world."

The floating camera remained focused on the battlefield, capturing everything.

The fight was already reaching its end.

The two triceratops were exhausted and heavily injured.

Burn marks covered their bodies. Their movements slowed.

Then one of the raptors leaped forward and bit deeply into the neck of the first triceratops.

Another one attacked from the side.

The large dinosaur let out one final painful roar before collapsing onto the burning grass.

The second triceratops tried to escape, but the pack quickly surrounded it and sent fire bolts, claws, and teeth.

Within minutes, it also fell.

The raptors slowly gathered around their fallen prey.

Their bodies were covered with smoke and ash, red skin glowing faintly under the sunlight.

Then they began tearing into the corpses.

And then a strange sound came from them.

High-pitched, sharp, and uneven noises.

"Ki—ki—ki—ki—ki—"

James' skin immediately crawled.

"You heard that?" James whispered. His voice was tense. "I think… the raptors are laughing."

The chat continued flooding with messages, but James didn't read them anymore.

His attention was completely locked on the predators.

James gulped quietly. What he just saw was reality. This was what he would face in this world. Dinosaurs predators with magical ability, violence, death.

He couldn't let his guard down even for a second.

But surviving like this would be extremely difficult.

He wasn't a survivalist, or a soldier, or a hunter.

He was just a normal streamer. And that was a serious problem.

But he had one advantage. The streamer system.

He had to use it. He had to keep his viewers interested. He couldn't let the chat leave him.

Because if they left… He would die.

James slowly breathed in and out, trying to calm his racing heart.

"What should I do now…?" he thought.

Then his eyes slowly moved back toward the raptors in the distance.

A dangerous idea appeared in his mind. A crazy idea.

But if he wanted viewers to stay…

He needed to show something interesting.

Something exciting and risky.

He slowly turned toward the floating camera.

"Chat," James said quietly. Then he pointed toward the raptors in the distance. "Do you think… I can take those raptors?"

The chat exploded instantly:

ARE YOU CRAZY?!

No way you can take those raptors!

That will kill you!

They spit fire, man!

This is suicide!

Don't do it!

But mixed within the panic, there were also different reactions:

Actually… it would be interesting… hehehe…

This would be insane content. If he pulls this off, it will be legendary.

High risk, high reward.

This will be peak streaming.

James watched the chat scrolling rapidly, messages moving so fast that he could barely read them all.

Some were worried, while others were excited or completely against the idea.

But the other kind clearly supported it.

"But it will be interesting… don't you think?" James said with a small grin toward the floating camera.

He couldn't lie. Even he thought it would be interesting.

Dangerous, of course, and suicidal. But interesting.

And curiosity was slowly growing inside him.

What would happen if he actually fought one?

Could the system help him?

Could donations really give him enough power?

Could he survive something like that?

James scratched the back of his head and looked at the raptors again in the distance.

Then he turned back to the camera.

"I won't be able to do it alone," he continued honestly. "I need your help."

He pointed lightly at the floating camera.

"Your donations and chat support give me items and buffs. We already saw that with healing and food."

He paused for a moment, thinking.

"Maybe… bigger donations give stronger power," he added carefully. "Or maybe specific intentions in donations can create better support items."

The chat began reacting again.

That actually makes sense.

Yeah, the system converts donations into support. So higher donations might give stronger buffs.

We can help him fight.

This is like a boss raid.

Chat raid against fire raptors.

We can do this together.

More messages followed.

We supply, he fights.

Team effort. This is actually cool.

Support the streamer.

But not everyone agreed. Some viewers were still skeptical.

This is just a clever way to make us donate more.

Honestly, this level of CGI deserves money anyway. Even if it's fake, this production quality is insane.

He is baiting donations. But yea, this is entertaining.

James read those messages and let out a small sigh.

"So… there are still people who think this is fake," he said quietly.

He looked at the ground for a moment, then shook his head slightly.

"Well, it can't be helped, I guess. If I were in your position, I probably wouldn't believe this either. But this is real, chat," he said seriously. "This is actually happening to me."

For a few seconds, he remained silent, staring directly at the floating lens.

His expression was calm, but his eyes were serious.

He wasn't joking anymore. He wasn't trying to act cool. He was simply stating the truth.

Then he took a small breath.

"Alright," James said.

He straightened his posture slightly and looked toward the raptors again.

"If you want to help me take down those raptors… then donate."

He hesitated slightly before continuing.

"Maybe… uh… include your intention to help me in the donation message as well. I'm not sure if that works. But maybe the system reacts to intention too."

He shrugged lightly.

"Worth trying, right?"

The floating camera quietly recorded him as the raptors in the distance continued tearing into the triceratops bodies.

For a few seconds, nothing happened.

The wind moved slowly across the burning grassland.

The raptors in the distance continued tearing apart the triceratops corpses, their sharp ki—ki—ki laughter echoing faintly in the air.

James stared at the floating camera, waiting.

[Donation Received: $5,000. Donator: DinoSlayer99]

[Message: I want to help him survive. Give him power, maybe?]

James' eyes widened slightly. Before he could even react another one appeared.

[Donation Received: $10,000. Donator: FireHunterX]

[Message: Strength and speed buff now. Don't let him die.]

A sharp mechanical sound rang inside his head.

[Processing Donation…]

[Intent Detected: Survival Support]

[Converting Viewer Support into Combat Buff]

A moment later a change happened to him.

[Momentary Strength Buff Granted]

[Momentary Speed Buff Granted]

[Duration: 5 Minutes]

James suddenly felt his muscles tightened heavily. Like something had poured raw energy directly into his body. His fingers curled slightly.

His breathing became smoother. His vision sharpened. The sound of the wind became clearer.

The distant raptors' movements became easier to track.

His heart started beating faster. It was not from fear this time, but from power.

James slowly clenched his fist and saw his own hands glowing blue.

"Whoa…" he whispered. "You all see that?"

This is real. He actually got buffed.

This system is actually responding to donations.

I didn't send that message by typing. It's just what I thought…

James slowly moved his arm, testing his strength. It felt like his body was several times lighter and stronger than before.

But it was not done.

[Donation Received: $10,000. Donator: OceanGuardian.]

[Message: Give him a weapon. Something that can counter fire.]

The system reacted immediately.

[Processing Donation…]

[Intent Detected: Weapon Support]

[Generating Item…]

A glowing light suddenly formed in front of James.

The air twisted slightly, like space itself was folding.

Then something appeared.

A spear.

It floated in the air for a moment before slowly descending toward him.

The weapon looked elegant and deadly. A long silver shaft, smooth and perfectly balanced. The spearhead was sharp and slightly curved, glowing with a faint blue aura.

Water-like energy flowed around the blade, forming small droplets that floated and disappeared like mist.

James instinctively reached out and grabbed it.

The moment his hand touched the weapon he got another notifications:

[Item Acquired: Aqua Spear]

[Attribute: Water Element]

[Effect: Holding this weapon give the user ability to reduce Fire Damage]

[Effect: Increased Penetration Against Fire-Type Creatures]

[Effect: Minor Cooling Field Around User]

James felt a cool sensation travel from the spear into his hand and arm.

The heat from the burning field suddenly felt less intense.

The air around him became slightly cooler.

"A water spear," James whispered.

THAT LOOKS SO COOL.

He GOT A LEGENDARY WEAPON!

Water spear vs fire raptors is perfect.

This is literally a boss fight setup.

OceanGuardian is MVP!

Now he actually has a chance.

This is insane.

James slowly lifted the spear and tested its weight, it had perfect balance. Not too heavy or too light.

It felt like it was made specifically for him.

He looked toward the raptors again.

The blue glow of the spear reflected slightly in his eyes.

He now had the strength and speed buff, and water-element spear.

Five minutes.

Five minutes to fight fire raptors.

James took a slow breath.

Then he grinned.

"Alright, chat," he whispered while tightening his grip on the spear.

"I guess we're really doing this."

In the distance, one of the raptors suddenly lifted its head. Its red eyes slowly turned toward the bushes. It had sensed something.

The predator stopped eating.

Then another raptor lifted its head. And another.

The pack was now looking in James' direction.

The hunt was about to begin.
