Ivy felt a wave of relief wash over her. Why?!
No sooner had she felt that relief than did it get replaced with an ocean of shame. Sure, he was hot, but what was it about him specifically that had her infernal hormones all a buzz?
Was he even human?
"Are you even human?" She asked it. Just flat-out asked it. It was such a weird question.
Of course he was a fudging human. She had to salvage this. He looked at her, an obvious expression of wide-eyed surprise on his
face.
"Sh-shut up!" she said, trying to regain some dignity, but in retrospect, that outburst only made her look even crazier.
"Do you want me to answer? Or no?" he grunted. He had a scarcely perceptible ferocity in his eyes that almost scared her for a moment.
Why was he looking at her like that?
She nodded sheepishly, feeling her cheeks burning red. "Y-yes. I mean—if you want to. Not like I give a fuck about you either way."
