He scratched his cheek in embarrassment, mostly because he didn't want to recall the reason Willow was avoiding him.

In all honesty, it had hurt him more than he would have liked. The pain it brought wasn't physical, but instead emotional, which made it all the worse.

Marybeth, naturally, noticed immediately.

The damned woman had a gift for it, a gift Leonidas was finding very annoying. Her golden eyes stayed trained on him with an intense gaze, as if she wasn't going to let the matter go.

Leonidas sighed, feeling a headache building behind his brows, blooming like his damn flowers.

"And?" she said.

"And what?"

"You scratched your cheek, clearly you don't wanna say something."

"Or maybe you're reading too much into something seemingly normal. It was ichy is all."

She looked at him with an expression so full of disgust and judgment that Leonidas felt he was in front of his father all over again. Hell, he felt literal shivers up his spine.
