Danielle's POV
I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm clock only for me to realize that I was late "oh my gosh I'm dead" I jumped out from the bed immediately rushing down stairs to go make it specifically to everyone's test like for my step mom I made porridge and for my step sister Emily I made salad since it's kinda what she prefers having for breakfast everyday. As soon as I finished setting the table I saw them descending the stairs with my dad first followed by my step mom then Emily. After everyone had taken their seats I served the food and as soon as everyone was done they all started going about their day. My dad stopped in his tracks all of a sudden without turning he said "we have a family meeting tonight make sure to be there" I was replying "okay sir-" he didn't let me finish before he left
I was studed, nervous not because of the meeting but I was worried about what they wanted to say, normally I'm not like the most loved around here, everyone preferred Emily, she was two years older than me and maybe that's the reason why my dad doesn't like me much. After standing for a while I started cleaning up so I can also be able to catch up to the rest of my chores before they get back or else it'll be brutal, step mom won't let me off so easily.
The day went by in a blur and before you know it was already nighttime and approximately the family meeting had already started before I got there "I'm sorry " I said apologizing while breathing heavily due to I was running, my dad just ignored me and continued with what he was saying "as I was saying I called for this meeting tonight because I have an important announcement to make. As you all know Emily is supposed to be engaged to the heir of the Moretti family Lorenzo Moretti, but Emily over here has refused the proposal and we can't call of engagement right? So I've spoken to Mr Moretti and we came to a decision to change the bride" then he turned to me as confused as I was I still continued to listen "Danielle, I think it's time you repay us for everything we've done for you, from feeding you to taking care of all your personal needs, clothing you and taking care of you" I was confused but I still listened. Wondering what he was going to say next "you will be marrying Lorenzo as the replacement brid-" "what!!!" I cut him short, not knowing where I got the courage from "How could you do this to me!!! All of you!!!!" "All of you!!!!"
I was still shocked asking why all this was happening to me when Emily cut me short "Ahhhhh bitch shut up, your voice is so annoying-" "After everything I've done, I know my mom wasn't the best person ever but I tried I don't complain " I said wiping some of the tears rolling down my eyes "I don't complain of anything you all treat me like a servant here even more wrost than them so why?!!!" I shouted in tears "Enough!!! You'll marry him and that's final" "I'd rather die than marry him!!!!!" I said breathing hard still not knowing where all these courages is from but right now I don't care to know "Then there's no need to continue paying for your grandma's treatment" I was immediately stunned by what he said "my grandma?" "Yes your grandma " "you won't dare she's your mother for crying out loud, how?" "How could you think of trying such a-" "you have until tomorrow to give me an answer better weigh your options right" I couldn't keep it anymore I just couldn't "your a monster, I can't believe you're my father-" before I could even finish a hard slap landed on my face, the impact was sooo much I fell on the floor crying both due to the pain of the slap and my situation "Mind how you talk to me!!!! I am your father!!!!" "But if your her father then who's mine? because I can't be sharing my father with a begger" "No sweetheart it's not like that okay " .
I was heart broken, confused, broken they're finally doing it they are finally running my life after everything after all the planing I made to leave this place once I'm 20 with my grandma but now all of them are gone runnied, because of them and I can't leave grandma like that but how do I get out of this one. Sometimes I really wish I could just die and leave everything behind maybe then I'll get peace maybe then I'll get some love but I can't because if I die then who would take care of grandma? Gosh why is my life like this? Why are my always soo unfortunate right from birth nobody liked me even my own mother hated me she hated me soo much she brought me back to my father, I know I was a mistake but do I really deserve all this? To this extent? Why? Why is it always me? I kept asking myself while crying
Lorenzo's POV
I was enjoying my peaceful sleep when the goddamn annoying sound of my phone woke me up. I tried ignoring it but to no avail so I had no other choice than to take the call. I angrily grabbed my phone from the night stand and checked the caller ID for me to see my grandfather's name written there, I cursed under my breath before answering the call "hello?" "You finally pick up, how many times have I warned you about such things you don't ignore my calls and answer when you fell like it boy" "just move straight to the point old man" "that's no way to speak to your grandfather Young Man but never the less it's concerning your engagement -" "go on" "you know you are supposed to be marrying the first daughter of the Gorge family" "yes" I answered "well there's been a change of plans" I got confused so I asked "why? What happened?" I kept asking "well their first daughter rejected the marriage so you'll be marrying the second daughter instead" at this point I got even more confused "second daughter?" I asked myself because as far as I know the Gorges only has one daughter which I think goes by the name Emily but a second daughter how when where "a second daughter? What are they talking about?" I kept asking "I'll explain everything properly when you come for dinner " he didn't even let me finish then he just heng up the phone on me without even letting me finish. I threw my phone on the floor in announce after he heng up "the old man had to f**cking ruin my day " I cursed under my breath before heading to the bathroom to prepare for work, once I was done I headed down stairs " good morning Mr Moretti " one of the servants greeted me but I didn't have the patience to to answer her so I ignored her and continued my way down stairs when I realized something "where's Robin?" The servant stamared first before replying "um-um-umm Mr Moretti he-he isn't in-" I can't stand these foolish people anymore "that wasn't what I asked you" I said in a commanding tone I am at the edge of losing it "he-he said it's about getting something important you-you asked for sir-" "good morning sir" "where were you?" I asked Robin annoyed he clearly knows that among all the things I hate being late is one of them "si-si-sir Mr-Mr-Mr. Moretti I'm sorry for being late I-I just had-" "that wasn't what I asked you right?" He nodded in fear "then answer the god damn question where were you?" He stamared with sweat running down all over his body in nervousness "I-I'm so-so-sorry sir fo-fo-for being late I-I had to get so-some important documents for you, Mi-mi-Mr. Li finally agreed to join in the project so-so I went to collect his signature " "okay but this better not repeat itself ever again. Am I clear?" "Yes sir " I walked pass him continuing my way down stairs so I can start heading to work "I won't wait for you " Robin rushed down handing the documents to me before heading outside then we started going to work.
