The four of them arrived at the mansion door completely soaked to the bone.
"Alright, guys, that's it. We need to climb these walls to get to Kaya," he said, pointing to the wall in question.
"Why don't we just go through the door and knock like normal people?" Nami asked, her gaze distant. She was wet and just wanted to dry off. It wasn't even that cold; in fact, it felt quite pleasant. After all, it was just a summer storm.
"I'm with the witch," Zoro said from behind her.
She turned and stared at the smiling swordsman through the torrential rain.
Usopp smiled awkwardly: "Well, you see-"
"Guys! Come on! I see a girl through this window! She's your friend, right, Usopp?" Luffy's voice called from above.
The three of them looked to see where the words were coming from and were dumbfounded. When had she climbed a tree? And when had she lost all that fat?
The boy in the straw hat laughed from his perch on the branch and turned toward the window. He wanted to see Usopp's friend. How could he get her attention? She seemed to be studying something at a table, and Luffy had nothing to throw to make her turn toward the window.
"Luffy! Wait for us!" Usopp shouted, starting to climb the tree.
Nami sighed to herself, and Zoro did practically the same, before following the long-nosed boy, the swordsman hot on his heels. Why couldn't things be simple for once?
Quickly enough so that the boy in the straw hat hadn't rushed in, the three of them climbed the tree. It wasn't easy. The bark was slippery from the torrential rain, and they'd all nearly fallen at least once. Usopp slid down next to Luffy to the branch hanging over the wall and pulled out his slingshot, swiftly firing a small rock at the window. Zoro and Nami weren't the only ones who wanted to dry off. He wished he'd let them in.
A stone made a dull thud against the windowpane, barely audible over the sound of the rain hitting it, and the girl sitting at the table inside turned around curiously.
Surely Usopp wouldn't have come today; it was pouring rain outside! She stopped studying and went to get a better look at the downpour; she needed a break. She went to the window and her eyes widened. Usopp was out there! With three other people, no less! She quickly opened the window, whose sill was already wet from the torrential rain. "Usopp?! What are you doing here? It's pouring outside!" she exclaimed.
She glanced at her friend and scanned the people around her. One had black hair and a straw hat, with a smile that made her want to smile back. The next had green hair and three gold earrings dangling from his left ear, two swords tucked into a belly warmer. The last was a beautiful girl with short, shoulder-length orange hair and a rather prodigious bust, if she said so herself. She looked down at her chest and frowned before turning back to her friend and smiling. There was no point in dwelling on things she couldn't control. She blushed slightly... She didn't think she cared...
"We came to hang out!" Usopp said from his position on the tree branch. He looked up at the rain that was soaking him and laughed awkwardly.
Luffy excitedly waved to the girl at the window, sitting cross-legged while swinging on the tree branch, "Hello, I'm Luffy!"
She looked at the other two.
"I'm Nami!" shouted the redhead, in the rain.
"Zoro," said the green-haired swordsman from the back of the group.
Kaya smiled at them. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. If you're Usopp's friends, then you're mine too." She glanced inside, toward her bedroom door. Khlahadore probably wouldn't be thrilled about it, but she couldn't leave them getting soaked in the rain. She turned to Usopp and his friends. "Would you like to come in? It can't be comfortable standing here like this in the rain."
Luffy immediately jumped up from the branch and nimbly leaped onto the windowsill, smiling and bringing his face close to Kaya's, who screamed and jumped back. "Thank you so much!" said the wet boy, climbing in through the window. "Sorry if I scared you!"
"I'm not scared," Kaya said with a soft laugh. "I was just startled." She smiled at her as the other teenagers climbed in through the window. They needed towels. "Stay here while I go get some. And Nami, I might have something around here that would fit you. But of course..." She glanced from Nami's chest to her own. "Maybe not," she laughed. What good would being jealous do? Better to laugh.
"Yes. Nami's breasts are a little big and yours are a little small," Luffy said, looking objectively between her breasts.
Nami blushed and punched Luffy in the head. "IDIOT! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!" She turned to Kaya, a light blush still on her cheeks. "I feel sorry for him. Sometimes he doesn't think before he speaks," she said, pointing at the straw hat boy who now sported a large bruise on his head.
Kaya laughed an angelic laugh. These friends of Usopp's were truly special. "It's okay," she paused, letting her laughter subside before turning toward the door. "Let me get you towels from the bathroom. And Nami, feel free to look in the closet for something that fits," the blonde girl said as she left.
The four of them shouted their thanks, Luffy was a little hurt.
"This place is very nice," Nami said, approaching the closet. She was eager to take off her wet clothes.
Zoro glanced around the room. The witch hadn't been wrong. The room they were in was enormous and beautifully decorated. A four-poster bed stood in the center, and several dressers and wardrobes were scattered throughout the room.
