Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Dungeon of Illusions

In the southern dominion of Chrysoprase Empire

stood Pyradine City—a thriving stronghold where warriors, merchants, and cultivators converged like rivers into the sea. The streets roared with life, filled with clashing steel, bargaining voices, and the quiet arrogance of powerful experts.

Yet, in the forgotten corner of this grand city… stood a dying shop.

Yuan Bi sat lazily at its entrance, fanning himself beneath a crooked wooden sign:

"Origins Dungeon Hall."

"...No customers again."

Once, this shop sold low-grade weapons and healing ointments. Now, it was empty—just like his future.

But everything changed two days ago.

As Yuan Bi woke from his restless sleep, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

"System activated. Initializing host…"

He froze.

Then—

"Super Dungeon Simulation System successfully bound."

"A system?!" Yuan Bi's eyes lit up.

He imagined supreme techniques, divine weapons, immortality…

Instead, the voice continued:

"Primary function: Create and manage dungeon experiences."

"…Dungeon?" Yuan Bi's smile stiffened.

Not a cultivation system.

Not a battle system.

A… dungeon shop?

"Are you serious…?" he muttered.

"Warning: Host must not insult the system."

"…Fine."

A glowing panel appeared in his mind:

[Beginner Task]

Create a Dungeon Hall and receive your first dungeon.

Reward:

4 Illusion Chambers

Beginner Dungeon: Hall of the Undead (VR Simulation)

Failure: System will abandon host.

"…Tch."

With no choice, Yuan Bi accepted.

By the next day, the shop had transformed.

Inside were four strange black thrones—each embedded with a mysterious helm-like artifact. They pulsed faintly with energy, as if whispering of another world.

No spirit stones.

No formations.

No visible power source.

Yet they were alive.

A blackboard stood by the entrance:

Dungeon Hall Rules

Open: Morning to Midnight

Entry Fee: 2 Spirit Crystals per hour

Dungeon Access: 5 Spirit Crystals

Max Time: 6 hours per person

No troublemaking. Offenders banned permanently

Death inside the dungeon feels real—enter at your own risk

"Perfect," Yuan Bi muttered sarcastically.

"Absolutely no one will come."

Still, he waited.

The door suddenly burst open.

"Bi! What nonsense business are you running now?"

A round figure waddled in—Min Luan, son of a wealthy restaurant owner.

"You didn't tell me you opened a shop!" he said, panting.

Yuan Bi smirked. "You're just in time. Want to explore a dungeon?"

"A dungeon?" Min Luan scoffed. "You mean like children's games?"

Yuan Bi pointed at the board.

Min Luan read it.

"…Seven spirit crystals?! Are you insane?!"

"Try it," Yuan Bi said calmly. "If it's not worth it, I'll refund you."

"…Really?"

After hesitating, Min Luan slammed down seven shining crystals.

"Fine. I'll expose your scam."

With Yuan Bi's guidance, Min Luan sat upon the black throne and placed the helm over his head.

Darkness swallowed him.

Then—

Wind.

Cold. Damp. Rotten.

He opened his eyes.

He stood in a forest beneath a blood-red sky...

"What… is this place…?" Min Luan whispered.

A voice echoed:

"Enter Dungeon: Hall of the Undead?"

"Yes!"

The world shifted.

A corpse turned its head.

Dead eyes.

Rotting flesh.

Staring directly at him.

"AHHHH!!!"

"EXIT! EXIT!"

Light flashed.

Min Luan tore off the helm, collapsing, drenched in sweat.

"…That… wasn't fake."

Yuan Bi leaned back, grinning.

"Told you. It's a dungeon."

Min Luan trembled.

"This… is incredible…"

In a forgotten corner of Pyradine City…

A new path of power had begun.

Not through meditation.

Not through battle.

But through—

Surviving the dungeon.

And Yuan Bi…

Was its master.
