Chapter 1 - “The Boy Who Failed… Until He Didn’t”

Ravi was an average student in a small village school. He wasn't the smartest in class, and every time exam results came, his name was always near the bottom.

One day, after receiving his report card full of low marks, Ravi sat quietly under a tree near his school. His teacher, Mr. Sharma, noticed him and walked over.

"Why are you sad, Ravi?" he asked gently.

"I study, sir… but I always fail. Maybe I'm just not smart," Ravi replied, his voice trembling.

Mr. Sharma smiled and pointed to a nearby well. "Do you see that rope mark on the stone?"

"Yes, sir."

"That mark wasn't made in one day. The rope touched the stone again and again, day after day, until it left a mark. Even a soft rope can shape a hard stone with persistence."

Ravi looked at the well thoughtfully.

"Success doesn't come from being smart," the teacher continued. "It comes from not giving up."

From that day, Ravi changed his approach. Instead of studying everything at once, he started learning a little every day. He asked questions, revised regularly, and didn't feel ashamed of his mistakes.

Months passed.

The next exam results came.

This time, Ravi wasn't at the bottom.

He wasn't at the top either.

But for the first time, he had passed all subjects.

Tears filled his eyes—not of sadness, but of pride.

Mr. Sharma looked at him and said, "See? The rope has started making its mark."

Years later, Ravi became a teacher himself. And every time a student said, "I can't do it," he smiled and told them the story of a rope and a stone.

Moral of the Story:

👉 Consistency and hard work can overcome any weakness.

👉 Failure is not the end—it's just the beginning of learning.
