Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — Prologue

In the beginning, there was nothing.

No air, no light. Not even the concept of emptiness.

Only an overwhelming silence—suffocating, infinite.

Then, somewhere within that void, a thought emerged.

— Hmmm…

A distant vibration, like a breath attempting to exist for the very first time.

— Why… nothing? Where am I? Am… who? Me… alone?

The voice had no body, no mouth. It was the raw reflection of a consciousness just coming into being. An entity had awakened where nothing had existed before it. Confused, fragile, it groped blindly, unable to grasp its own existence.

But soon, as if guided by instinct, an inner force took over.

And then…

The thought became light.

Light became warmth.

Warmth became expansion.

In a blinding outburst, a spark burst forth, shattering the void.

A deep, thunderous roar shook the emptiness.

The Big Bang had just been born.

Stars ignited one by one, worlds took shape, matter bent under newly formed laws. And the entity, silent, watched its creation unfold.

It still did not understand what it had unleashed…

But this first breath would soon surpass all its expectations

We will now follow a young boy named Chibaki Kugimiya. His story takes place two million years after the events of the Big Bang.

Under a clear blue sky, a small, peaceful house stood at the edge of a village. Laughter echoed through its garden.

Thirteen-year-old Chibaki was playing with his friends. His white hair stuck to his forehead from running, and his yellow eyes sparkled with untamed energy. His name carried a deep meaning—the one who holds a thousand flames. Yet, until now, he had never shone like the others.

While his friends were already clumsily using their Myuki, Chibaki remained… ordinary.

Always behind.

Always without a spark.

But that day, everything was about to change.

A deep rumble suddenly tore through the garden.

The ground shook. The sky seemed to crack open. Then—an explosion.

His parents rushed outside in panic.

— "Chibaki!?"

Their eyes widened in shock. The garden had turned into a smoking crater. And at its center… their son stood, unharmed, surrounded by a strange aura.

— "This is… impossible…" his father whispered.

Chibaki opened his mouth as if to speak… but his legs gave out. He collapsed, unconscious.

A few hours later, he finally opened his eyes. His parents sat beside the bed, speaking with a doctor.

They explained that their son had awakened to the Myuki—an energy that flows through all things: humans, animals, insects… even the air itself.

Anyone who awakens to Myuki gains access to abilities ranging from fire to wind, from water to countless others. The possibilities are endless.

No one is born with a specific affinity. It reveals itself over time—shaped by experience… and personality.

The doctor and his parents quickly noticed that he was awake. Before Chibaki even had time to understand what was happening, his parents burst with joy—his son had finally awakened.

Chibaki understood as well, and he couldn't help but feel happy.

Most children awakened around the age of seven, with the latest cases occurring around ten. The doctor, however, was shocked that a boy had awakened even later—at thirteen. He reminded them that some people never awakened at all, though such cases were extremely rare.

Chibaki, equally surprised, realized that his life was about to change.

After a few days of rest, he was finally allowed to return home.

Three days passed.

Chibaki's parents wanted to enroll him in a school where he could learn to control his power. Someone unable to control their Myuki could explode at any moment under intense emotion or a violent shock.

But the school only accepted students between the ages of seven and ten.

They had no choice but to find a master to teach their son.

They posted notices all across the village, and even as far as the capital of Aeloria, the largest city on the continent of Solhena.

Days passed. Then weeks.

Until one evening, someone knocked at the door.

It creaked softly as Chibaki opened it.

Standing before him was a towering man, draped in a long black coat that nearly touched the ground. His short hair, shaved at the sides, emphasized the severity of his face. His dark eyes, filled with experience, settled on Chibaki as if they could pierce through his very soul.

— "…This is the Kugimiya residence, correct?" he asked in a deep voice.

Surprised, Chibaki nodded timidly.

The man gave a slight nod.

— "My name is Genshiro Tatsuma. I saw your notice. You are looking for a Myuki master… so, who is my future student?"

Chibaki's parents arrived at the door and greeted him.

— "Yes, you're in the right place. Nice to meet you. It's for my son, Chibaki, that we posted those notices. Thank you for answering… we were starting to lose hope, haha…" his father said, casting a hesitant glance at Genshiro's imposing figure.

— "I see." Genshiro replied, his eyes once again locking onto Chibaki. He studied him in silence for a moment, as if measuring his worth.

— "So this is the one I'll be training. On my way here, I already heard about him from the villagers. Thirteen years old… that's quite unusual for an awakening. But well, nothing is impossible, right?" he added with a faint chuckle.

Chibaki remained silent. Genshiro's overwhelming presence almost crushed him. His heart was racing, yet he refused to look away

—he wanted to memorize every detail of this man.

— "Come, I'll show you your room. It's nothing luxurious, but I hope it will suit you," Chibaki's father said with a nervous smile.

— "That's fine. You know, I've lived in places far worse than hell itself, so anything is fine by me," Genshiro replied as he set down his bag. Then, turning his gaze toward Chibaki:

— "Thank you… I'll settle my things, and we'll begin training tomorrow, Chibaki. Agreed?"
