Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: Lingering Shadows

And so, that morning, Lucien grabbed a basket and headed to the supermarket. 

He wore a thin cream-colored sweater, wrapped a scarf securely around his neck, and kept his still-bandaged arm well-hidden within his long sleeve. Before leaving, he did not forget to send Dominic Vance a text message: "I am heading to the supermarket to buy baking ingredients, I will be back soon. Today I am planning to make your favorite dish."

After hitting send, he smiled to himself and pushed the door open to step outside. 

The supermarket was not very crowded that day. Lucien leisurely pushed the cart through the aisles, picking out plump red apples, a bag of almond flour, and a few fragrant vanilla beans. He also conveniently grabbed a bouquet of pale blue hydrangeas, planning to arrange them in the glass vase next to the dining table. Everything was wrapped up in an air of tranquility, so gentle that even he himself almost believed he truly was a happy little wife.
