Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The First Task

After the task officially initiated, Lucien finally had the time to observe his own body. Aside from the fact that his right ear had hearing issues, everything else was perfectly fine.

Which also meant that... Lucien's legs were completely healthy, and he could walk normally.

This was a sensation that, ever since he had clear memories, Lucien had never once experienced. He ignored the crazy task that 000 had just assigned to him, throwing off the blanket and jumping right out of bed.

So this was what being able to walk felt like.

After letting him freely leap and bound around the room to his heart's content, 000 finally reminded him of the main quest.

Oh...

Thus, Lucien was once again stuffed with a massive pile of current crucial plot points by the system.

First of all, Miles's mother, the woman who had intruded into his family and indirectly caused his mother's death, was already dead. It truly was a case of karma. She had died before she could even enjoy her ill-gotten blessings for long.

After that, Mr. Sinclair did not remarry.

Even though that woman was dead, Miles, having been raised by her since childhood, was infected with all of her terrible habits. Shrill, jealous, selfish, entirely self-centered, and willing to resort to any scheme regardless of the consequences...

Whatever was the worst of traits, Miles had a share of it.

Prior to this, Lucien had been kicked out of the Sinclair household. But later on, Father Sinclair's business ran into some issues, requiring the marriage between his son and Dominic Vance to consolidate relationships and draw in more regular clients.

Even though this commercial marriage had been shifted onto Miles's head, and the two of them were already engaged. But the elders in the Vance family did not like Miles very much.

His status was neither justifiable nor legitimate. Being the child of a homewrecker, he was an eyesore no matter how one looked at him. Furthermore, the fact that Father Sinclair let his second wife whisper in his ear and kick his own biological son out of the house also made the Vance family dislike Father Sinclair.

In the end, Father Sinclair had to swallow his pride and invite Lucien back.

On the surface, it looked like he was escaping the slums to return to being the eldest young master. But in reality, Lucien lived under the cold shoulder of his father, subjected to all sorts of humiliating tricks orchestrated by his younger brother, Miles.

Ultimately, he died of accumulated grievances and resentment.

The current Lucien could only click his tongue, it was truly tragic.

However, he was not like the original owner of this body, letting people do whatever they pleased to him.

Want to bully him? Miles should not even dream about it.

Ah, right, currently Lucien was living in the same house with Miles and Dominic Vance. It was a bit awkward to bring up, but the truth was that this marriage arrangement had originally been set up by Lucien's mother.

The Vance family also felt that Lucien was much more pleasing to the eye than Miles.

Dominic Vance did not express any issues, he did not like either of them. Previously, during the engagement ceremony, he had originally thought it was Lucien, but it was ultimately changed to Miles, and he did not have any opinions on the matter either.

Up until now, the elders in the family told the three of them to just live together like that, each in their own room. After spending time together for a long while, whoever Dominic Vance liked, he would marry that person.

He did not care much, either.

The ones on the weaker side were the Sinclair family, not him.

Therefore, such a situation had come to be. That was also the reason why Miles desperately found ways to humiliate and oppress Lucien like that. He did not want Lucien to shine in front of Dominic Vance and steal his position.

This morning, Miles had gone out, probably returning home to discuss how to salvage the relationship with Dominic Vance. According to what 000 said, they had gone to bed several times, yet Miles still had no way to swallow that manhood of Dominic Vance's.

He was anxious.

In truth, he did not know that nobody on the outside could swallow it either, it was a bug of the world.

But whatever, what did his anxiety have to do with Lucien anyway?

Right at this moment, the beeping sounds of the system rang out once more.

[First Task: Seduce Dominic Vance.

Time Limit: Twenty-four hours.

Penalty for failing the task: Prolonging the time to awaken in the real world.]

"Are you playing with me? There is no reward, but there is already a penalty? Seduce, how exactly do I seduce? Give him a kiss on the lips or drag him into bed with me? Damn it, is there anyone who assigns tasks as carelessly as you do?"

[The task allows you the freedom to improvise. The matter of rewards has been stated beforehand, task points will only update when this world is completely repaired. The minor tasks are merely guiding quests. The penalty was also mentioned in the contract; it is your own fault for not reading it carefully.]

"..."

He truly had been played.

"But with Miles here, how am I supposed to seduce him? All morning Dominic Vance goes to work, and the people in the house are entirely Miles's people. At night, he comes back and tightly guards that man."

[The system will help you keep Miles outside, as well as dismiss the servants in the house, guaranteeing a private space for you.]

Alright then, since things had already come to this, he could only grit his teeth and carry out the task, what else could he do?

Besides... Lucien was also somewhat looking forward to it.

The novels described doing these sorts of things as being extremely blissful. Furthermore, recalling the scene he had witnessed that morning, that manhood...

Lucien swallowed his saliva.

It would... it would be fine, right?
