That way, they would all be safe, and she would be the one left behind to face the insect clan without any burden.
Selene sighed, then smiled faintly. "You'll find out later."
She walked over to her son, who had just finished building a snowman as tall as his head. She gently patted the top of his head. "Claude, it's time to go home. Caelis must be worried about you."
Claude's cheerful laughter faded, and a trace of sadness appeared on his face. "Will you come home with me?"
