Zane Xavier suddenly clutched his chest, his expression changing.
A flash of confusion crossed his eyes.
He felt a particularly strong connection in his heart.
He had been feeling this sensation for the past few days and had already figured it out: it was the connection between himself and Miss Sterling.
He wasn't too surprised. When Miss Sterling had him take that pill, he'd suspected she had a reason for it.
Back when Miss Sterling had disappeared, he would sometimes inexplicably sense her presence.
He had gradually gotten used to it.
But he hadn't expected the connection to suddenly become so intense just now.
His gaze then shifted, and he looked in a certain direction, but there was nothing there.
His brow furrowed deeply again. He was certain he hadn't been mistaken. A figure had definitely flashed past, and it was a very familiar one.
It looked a bit like Miss Sterling.
