A wave of sadness washed over them. They had finally made it back to their old home and seen their former companions.
But to their surprise, their companions were looking at them with guarded expressions.
However, the returned group wasn't stupid. The joy and excitement on the two young men's faces when they had first seen them hadn't been faked.
'So it probably wasn't that the others didn't welcome them back. Then what could it be?'
It only took a moment for them to understand.
They had disappeared for so long, held captive all this time, while many of their other companions had already died.
But now, here they were, back safe and sound. It was only natural that this would arouse suspicion.
'Those two young men probably think we've turned traitor, that we're helping that faction come after them. They must think we're using our old friendship as a ploy to capture them.'
