At least in this moment, she felt her occasional acts of compassion weren't a mistake.
After all, she had just saved these people. It would be a real shame if they were to die by her hand immediately after.
But now, it seemed that wouldn't be necessary.
She chuckled softly, her laughter filled with delight.
Andrew Shaw, who was at her side, also let out a huge sigh of relief.
'Thank goodness. These people aren't so heartless that they'd turn on us right after we saved them.'
'I knew it,' he thought. 'Even in the apocalypse, when people can be so treacherous and fickle, there are still kind and grateful souls out there.'
And he wasn't just relieved for their own sakes; he was relieved for these people, too.
'If they hadn't been thinking straight and had actually attacked us, you can just imagine what their fate would have been.'
What these people did now had essentially saved their own lives, though they didn't realize it.
