Stella Sterling glanced up at him, then returned to what she was doing.
"I'm not afraid, but I don't want to kill needlessly."
'It's true that I'm not afraid of them. If they found out, I'm confident I could deal with them—make it so they couldn't talk and ensure my secret wouldn't get out.'
But she didn't want to do that!
Unlike those who actively provoked her, Stella Sterling had no desire to act against people who hadn't.
'But if my secret were discovered, I couldn't just let them expose it.'
'That would mean I'd have to find a way to… take care of them.'
'But what did those people do wrong?'
So, if she could avoid being discovered, Stella Sterling preferred it that way.
Hearing this response, Andrew Shaw was a little confused.
'This woman in front of me is so contradictory and strange,' he thought. 'I can't understand what goes on in her head at all.'
But Stella Sterling had no intention of explaining further to him.
