Faye Yardley, who had just returned from trading for some Soul Destruction Talismans with Master Veridian, smiled at her brother's message and accepted the Gift. She hadn't expected it to contain four Soul Crystals. Since eating them was beneficial, Faye decided to consume them all.
By the time she ate the ninth one, she felt as if her whole being had ascended.

All four Attributes had unexpectedly increased by one point each.
Faye still had thirty-three crystals in her inventory, obtained from her own kills. Since there were no adverse reactions—only benefits—there was no reason to wait. She kept eating.
However, after downing another ten, she felt no obvious changes. She wondered if consuming too many Soul Crystals built up a resistance. Frowning slightly, she continued tossing them into her mouth, CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH.
