The original station personnel started to take the initiative, helping move supplies and hand over tools. Some even quietly said "thank you" or "good work" to Josie as she passed.
Although there was still some awkwardness when they made eye contact, their desire to get closer and become true companions was already clear.
Josie sensed this change and felt a small sense of relief.
"Vera," Josie said, arriving at the logistics area. "How are the injured?"
Vera looked up, her face tired but relieved. "They're okay. Mostly superficial wounds. Two were seriously injured, but their lives aren't in danger, thanks to Sean and the others holding the front line."
"That's good." Josie's gaze swept over the somewhat sparse planting area in the corner.
"The growing conditions here are still too limited. The yield and variety probably can't keep up with our consumption. We need to expand."
