Lucas Lockwood knew his father's analysis of the situation was correct. He, too, believed the future would be a world controlled by superpower users.
But he didn't believe a marriage alliance between the two families would be enough to counter this trend.
"I won't be with Sylvia Sullivan. You should give up on that idea right now."
