Lucas Lockwood demanded, one question after another.
In the darkness, Josie Quinn blinked. "How about I leave right now, then?"
Lucas Lockwood's arms tightened around her. "Don't even think about it!"
Josie Quinn struggled but couldn't break free. "Lucas Lockwood, my boyfriend is Felix Fields. The reason I stayed is because I don't want to see that evolved zombie get any stronger, and its Crystal Core is very valuable. I would have stayed even if it wasn't you here."
After she spoke, a dead silence fell over the warehouse.
"Liar,"
Lucas Lockwood's breath drew closer. "You've lied to me once before. This time, I'm trusting my gut. Maybe you really were worried the evolved zombie would get stronger by eating those other superpower users, but they all left. I was the only one left, and you still didn't go."
