Josie Quinn immediately dropped the woven bag and looked toward the door.
A light flickered inside, and she could vaguely make out some shadows.
Suddenly, a dark figure flashed past the doorway, and the open iron door was shut.
Josie's heart sank.
'Was that an evolved zombie that just flashed by?'
'An evolved zombie can close a door?'
At that realization, it felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured into Josie's heart.
'This probably isn't a newly evolved zombie. It must have eaten plenty of superpower users and upgraded...'
Josie knew the most rational thing to do was to leave immediately. She was no match for an upgraded, evolved zombie.
But... her feet felt as heavy as lead.
There were over twenty superpower users inside. If this zombie ate all of them, not even Felix Fields would be able to handle it.
If it broke into the safe zone, humanity's last spark would be completely extinguished.
'I can't let it grow stronger!'
